Joomla 1.5.8. on a site for Registered Users
Template: JoomlArt JA_Edenite
iJoomla Magazine 3.0.5.
PHP 5.2.5.

I am using iMagazine as a section of my site, not the core site itself. I have created a menu item in the Main Menu (SPECIAL now, REGISTERED when it is ready).

I do not want the modules on every page, only those associated with the magazine. However, I am having a similar problem with the modules NOT showing up on the article pages. The modules CURRENT ARTICLES, FEATURED ARTICLE, AUTHORS, etc. show up fine when the user clicks on the Main Menu link. When clicking on a link in Current Articles only the article opens up and no modules.

Strangely enough, when clicking on the Featured Article the article opens with the modules.

I have read about modifying code (and am plenty capable of doing so), but based on the statement:

Code:
In the "general settings" Show Modules on Article Page says:

Well, I am just not seeing that in the General Settings area. I assume that has been removed from a previous version? And I did not access the Demo site to check because the Demo site is not what I'm using. After all, if we both bought the same car from the same dealer and yours works but mine doesn't ... I'm not going to drive yours around to see if it helps me fix my car. :-)

Back to my problem: when clicking on an article from the modules it doesn't display the modules as they are not associated with a menu item. In J1.5 - to the best of my knowledge - there is no option to set a module to "unassigned" items.

I can submit a support ticket for this if needed, but as I have come to find out the results of those tickets are never published in the forums and as such most of my searches end up with reading how they should submit a support ticket. Not saying the support system doesn't work because it does. But not having the resolutions available in the forums sort of defeats their purpose and forces other users to submit tickets for items that can be resolved out in the open. That's my opinion and I'm sure there is a good reason for not doing so...

So bottom line is this: can someone help me get the modules to appear on the article pages when accessing them from the displayed modules?

Thank you for the great product. I look forward to your assistance.

Will

Hi,
Since we release iJoomla Magazine for J! 1.5 version we removed that feature because it´s not necessary anymore.
In your particular case I think there is an issue on your modules so, submit a support ticket and we will take a look at this in order to help you with this issue.
Best regards,

Hello, I've come across quite a few posts and the response is always "please submit a support ticket."

How is anyone supposed to find help on the forum if the general response is always to submit a support ticket?  This does not help people who are trying to find answers on the forums.  What is the purpose of the forums if all of the answers are behind the scenes in the support ticket database?  Smiley

I am using Joomla 1.5.9 and am having this issue.  My articles do not go to the correct pages as they should, but show "component/content/etc...."  Why isn't it using the method set by Joomlas core SEF?  (which is what I'm using).

Hi,
Joomla has a problem with the duplicated urls, specifically with the menu URLs. For this reason is possible to have this issue. So, we are working in the code in order to try to solve it.
Please post the URL where you are having this issue and I will try to help you.

It's always a good idea to fill in the "alias" part of any article, instead of letting joomla do that automatically, especially when it comes to menu items. I have created a lot of portals this way, and never had any problem, no matter if I use or don't use any kind of SEF.
On the other hand, I can't figure out what's so "not necessary any more" like Corei admits, so to let it out and then face problems like you and I face on NOT showing modules on a magazine articles; and most of all, not answering what to do about it other than "post a submit ticket" blah, blah. In my case there's no reply for a month now to my posts... What did you say about "Customer service"?
