I am trying to install Ijoomla news 1.5.6 on a ubuntu webserver (Linux tlfl 2.6.27-7-server #1 SMP Fri Oct 24 07:37:55 UTC 2008 i686 ) running php 5.2.6 and MySQL version 5.0.67
when i go and install it i get

Fatal error: Class 'mosInstallerComponent' not found in /var/www/administrator/components/com_news_portal/install.news_portal.php on line 1774

if i refresh the screen I go back to the joomla install page and if I look in components ijoomla news is installed.
if i go into ijoomla news and go to "about" it says the following
C
omponents
 Not installed  + iJoomla News

Modules
Installed  + iJoomla News Sections  version 1.5.1

if i put a link to the news compoment on the front page of my site it is just a white page.
if i link to a cat page it shows ok but with no news items on it?
see
http://www.tlfl.org.uk/index.php?option=com_news_portal&view=newsportal&Itemid=423

or

http://www.tlfl.org.uk/index.php?option=com_news_portal&Itemid=479&view=category&id=1

I have tried removing the component removing any links in the database and any left over files on the server but still get the same error when I retry to install it.
any ideas would be good
thanks
Rob

Do you still know the solution for this problem? Because I have the EXACT situation in here, but here the line is No: 1363 Wink

Installing the module succeeds Smiley But when I try to install the component by "uploading package file" it says:

        * Warning! Failed to move file.
        * JFolder::create: Could not create directory
        * Unable to create destination

And installing from directory says:

Fatal error: Class 'mosInstallerComponent' not found in /var/www/administrator/components/com_news_portal/install.news_portal.php on line 1363

I haven't tried installing via url yet, but I think that option wouldn't work also as the "usual" 2 options won't work.

Hope someone can help me cause I would like to finally get it all working :-)

Kind regards,

Henry.

Hi,
It looks like there is a permission problem on your Joomla! installation.
Please verify it on HELP -> SYSTEM INFO -> DIRECTORY PERMISSIONS.

Oh, i tought i would get an email when somebody replied, bit i wont :p

anyway, that fixed the permission problem, stupid me :p

But it didnt fix the problem with the "Fatal error: Class 'mosInstallerComponent' not found in /var/www/administrator/components/com_news_portal/install.news_portal.php on line 1363" thing. Do you know any fix for that?

Thx! :-)
