Ijoomla News Portal Too Slow to Use

When we load our home page with Ijoomla news portal enabled the html takes 11.6 seconds to load. The file size is 22,590. This is with only the Featured Article Zone in use. In other words, nearly a blank page.

When we load our home page with Ijoomla news portal disabled, the load time is .52 seconds and file size is 20,507 bytes.

With Ijoomla, it takes 11 seconds longer just to load the html and the page load takes nearly 20 seconds. On our site wherever we go to a news portal page (sections or category pages) the load time is enormous. When we go to pages that don't use news portal the load time is almost instant. Turn off news portal, load times are almost instant. Turn it on, load time is forever.

Any suggestions? Customer support basically suggested trying a new server and nothing else.

Yes, iJoomla News Portal is TOO SLOW!!

I had to clean the huge css file from the almost 200KB to near 9KB, but I understand that the system is made with the word "personalization" in mind.

So... my recomendation is to personalize your site and then clean the news.css file

Another thing is (if you know a little about php code) to clean the views.php files.
