Turn your regular Joomla pages into top-selling product pages!

Joomla is an incredibly powerful tool, and when you pack on some high-quality extensions, you can create rich articles containing videos, image galleries and a whole lot more. In fact you can create exactly the sort of attractive, sticky pages that would work perfectly as product pages for our new iJoomla DigiStore. So we've created a mambot that lets you convert any content page into a product page simply by placing an "Add To Cart" button, like this one:

How does it work?

Easy. Let's say you're selling DVDs. You create a content item that provides a summary of the movie and lists the actors. You even add a trailer video from YouTube and put it in a SideBar somewhere on your page.

Now that the page is ready, all you have to do is add a DigiStore tag wherever you want to display the "Add To Cart" button. Simply paste the phrase:

[digistore id=x]

NOTE: Replace the x with the product ID and replace [ and ] with { and }

where you'd like the button to show, replacing the x with the ID of the product you wish to display.

How do I find the product ID?

• To find the ID of a product you want to sell, login to your admin backend and go to Components->iJoomla DigiStore
• Click the Products button.
• One of the columns on the resulting page will list product IDs. Replace the x with your product ID, and you should end up with a page that looks something like this:http://www.ijoomlademo.com/content/view/2708/53047/

It doesn't get any easier than that!

What other parameters does this mambot offer?

1. Alignment. To control placement add "align=right/left/center". For example: [digistore id=1 align=right].
2. Quantity. To allow buyers to purchase more than one item, add "quantity=yes" to the tag. For example: [digistore id=1 quantity=yes].
3. Close window. If your product page appears as a pop-up, add "close=yes" to remove the window after the user clicks the "Add To Cart" button. For example: [digistore id=1 close=yes]. More about this below.

And of course, you can combine the parameters for complete control. For example: [digistore id=1 align=right quantity=yes close=yes]

How do I show the product page as a pop-up?

Open the product, and on the General tab, specify the ID of the content item you'd like to use as a pop-up.

If you click "The Prestige" link above the video, you will see a pop-up that contains all of the content we'd created earlier (although without the templates and modules, of course). This lets you use the same page for two different purposes. If you add the "close=yes" parameter, the pop-up will close after the user clicks "Add To Cart" and the item will be added to their shopping cart. A great way to increase your conversion rate.

How else can I use this mambot?

There are a number of ways you can use it, but here are a few:

• Sell anything, anywhere! Whenever you mention a product that you're selling on your site, just add the tag. Your visitors won't have to look for the "Buy Now" button and they won't have to surf around to find out more. They can just click the "Add To Cart" button and buy. Easy.
• Turn your magazine into a shopping cart. Take advantage of the great layout of the magazine, and use it to sell products. Simply add the mambot tag to the content item text (you can use the intro text, the full text, or both!). Your visitors will be able to buy right from your magazine.
• Turn your review site into a shopping cart. If you are using JReviews to review products, adding the mambot tag to the content items will let people review the products or read other people's reviews, and buy the product too!
