What is iJoomla DigiStore?

iJoomla DigiStore is a specialized Joomla solution that lets you create a store for selling digital AND tangible products within minutes! If you've got an email address, you can start selling and generating revenue right away.

How advanced is iJoomla DigiStore?

We designed iJoomla DigiStore to be as simple as possible. We want you to start making money now, not in a week or two, after you've read the manual and understood all the features. That's why DigiStore has everything you need to set up an online store, and nothing you don't.

You won't find a huge list of sophisticated features you will never use on iJoomla DigiStore - just the REALLY important features. However, if you find that a feature you really need is missing, please suggest it. If it makes sense and other people suggest it too, we'll see if we can add it in future releases.

I can get VirtueMart Free, why should I pay for iJoomla DigiStore?

Maybe you shouldn't. We recommend that you give VirtueMart a try. If you can make it work, great! Frankly, we've tried it... and found that it's like trying to drive a 10-ton semi when all you really need is a good bicycle. It's too clumsy, too difficult and far too time-consuming.

Do I need a merchant account to get started?

No! All you need is email address so that you can receive PayPal payments. You don't even need a PayPal account until people start paying! Just enter your email address, and when you make your first sale, you'll get an email from PayPal telling you that you've got money and asking you to open an account.

Can I sell very large downloadable products with iJoomla DigiStore?

There are two ways to upload your products to the store:

1. Browse for the product on your computer and upload it by clicking the Upload button. This method has a size limit which depends on your server's settings. In general though, it's only used for relatively small files.
2. Upload with FTP to the media directory. You can upload very large files this way, including MP3 files.

What about shipping?

iJoomla DigiStore makes calculating and charging shipping simple. You can set shipping charges as a flat or variable rate, each determined by the purchase price and the customer's location. And with built-in links to USPS, UPS and FedEx shipping calculators, you'll be able to quickly and easily determine accurate rates.

Can I make changes to the code?

The entire code is not encrypted (starting from May 11th, 2010) and you can modify it as you wish.

What do I enter in the IPN field in my paypal account?

• Log into your PayPal account,
• click the "Profile Link"
• click the Instant Payment Notifications" Link,
• click Edit Button, select the "Enable" radio button,
• In the box, enter their IPN URL to your DigiStore:

Replace "yoursite.com" with your domain and extension.

Analytics Module (included FREE)

This module allows you to track all your sales using Google Analytics. This adds some real power to your DigiStore and allows you to analyze stats/trends. This module is installed automatically for you when you install the component. All you have to do is set the analytics ID number and you're all set!

DigiStore Manager Module (included FREE)

This module shows your shoppers a link to their store account and a link to their licenses/purchased items. Users can access their account info and purchased items at any time.

DigiStore Cart Module(included FREE)

This module shows a "Buy Now" button or "No items in cart" initially, but as soon as the user adds at least one item to the cart, it shows a mini shopping cart with a checkout button. This is a very useful module that allows your users to keep track on what's in their cart while keep shopping. After they finished payment, the module gets emptied and shows the "Buy Now" button or "No items in cart" again.

• Layouts - We've added some layout flexibility and we're still adding more. At the moment, you can organize the categories vertically instead of horizontally (you can see an example here) but leave the products layout alone for now, we will be improving it drastically for the next version.
• Promo codes - Offer your customers and partners a discount promo code. You can choose between a fixed reduction or a percentage of the sales price. Offer your customers a holiday promo code and see your sales increase dramatically!
• iDev affiliate support - Now you can automatically connect to iDev affiliate (but you must have the iDev affiliate program already installed and running).
• Free products - Hand out free downloadable products that your users can grab after they complete registration.
• Multiple categories - Put a product in more than one category...
• Nested categories - ...and add as many categories and sub categories as you need
• VAT - We've completely re-worked the VAT feature so that it's up-to-date with all the VAT requirements. There are now two extra questions on the registration for VAT calculation, but they will only show to customers who need them based on their location. • Product end publishing date - Specify the last publishing date of a product (very useful for seasonal items or special offers!)
