Overview

Right now, as you read this, your site is bleeding. It's bleeding PageRank.

Every link that you place on a Web page makes another little hole in your site. Your users drip through that hole... and your PageRank leaks out of it.

Of course, you need to have links on your site. It's almost impossible to build a site without them. So what you can do to make sure that your links don't drag down your Page Rank and lower your position in the search engines?

Screenshots:

iJoomla:redirect is a unique extension designed to protect your PageRank and improve your knowledge of your site.

It helps you maintain your site's Google ranking by redirecting your outgoing links to other locations. As a helpful bonus, it also counts the number of times people click those links.

And it's incredibly simple to use. Instead of placing a regular link, you just add a redirect link to the backend that generates a special URL. The URL looks something like this:
index.php?option=com_ijoomla_redirect&id=1

You can also use a mambot tag, like this:

#redirect# (replace brackets with curly brackets).

You can add as many links as you want to other sites without harming your own site's Page Rank! We think that's already pretty neat. But iJoomla:redirect does even more than that - it tracks the clicks for each redirect link, so you can pick up even more detailed information about what your users are doing on your site and what they want to read.

We're very excited about this extension. Our friend Kenneth Crowder created it, and we offered to sell it for him because we understand how important it is. (We've been using it successfully on iJoomla.com for a while now.)

At only $39.95, we think it's a steal. We are able to keep the price this low because it's such a simple extension. The support required will be really minimal, but if you do need help, Ken has agreed to answer questions on a special forum. (So don't post questions on the support system for this one, just use the forum.) We don't expect him to be very busy.

As always, you are welcome to try our demo site to see how the extension works. After you've given iJoomla:redirect a try, you'll see how easy it is to conserve that precious PageRank.

SEO Tools - Search Engine Optimization Do's and Don'ts

The simple rule of thumb is that content matters. Google and other search engines base their query results on website content. If the content isn't there, neither is the high ranking. Plus, it's always good to be on top! Put your most relevant keywords and search terms in the title, description, and first few lines of your website text and content. However, Google will penalize your site if you overload it with irrelevant keywords or hidden search terms. Also, Google is a stickler about the rules. They make the rules and if you want to improve search rankings then you MUST play by them. Here are some guidelines:

SEO Fundamentals - Top 20 Factors to Better Google Rankings

Any discussion about SEO Fundamentals needs to start with Google. With over 75% of the world's web searches now being conducted via Google, it's safe to say that your potential customers will be starting their journey there as well. Google is the gold standard of Search Engines in both overall search volume and search quality. I'll save the rationale behind Google's dominance for another day, but undoubtedly a large portion of their rise to the top of Search Engine excellence can be attributed to their proprietary algorithm, which is the set of calculations performed against the web's content that decides which web sites they think their viewers will find most relevant for the entered keywords.

The Best SEO Strategy

A question often asked of SEO experts, is what is The Best SEO trick, or the best seo tactic, or the best seo tip - the fact is though there is no best trick or tactic, but there IS, I believe, a best SEO strategy. The best SEO strategy in my opinion, and experience - is a holistic white hat SEO strategy. The dictionary definition of holistic is: "of, concerned with, or dealing with wholes or integrated systems rather than with their parts" Holistic SEO simply means that you work on everything, the whole system - not just parts. Many people involved in SEO, do not work in this manner - it's not uncommon at all to find a website that has had a lot of SEO work done in parts, but the website isn't doing nearly as well as it should be due to very important parts being completely missed out. It's very common to find websites which suffer from one of the following : Great on page & off page SEO done - but keyword research not done, as a result the website is concentrating on completely the wrong keywords, and therefore ranking for keywords which do not bring targeted traffic. Great offpage SEO, plently of backlinks - but complete lack of relevant content Great keyword research done, good on page SEO - but no off page SEO, no backlinks, and therefore very little traffic apart from small amounts of traffic coming from keywords which have very little competition. The best results come from SEO when done in a holistic way - paying plenty of attention to all area's, keyword research, on page, and off page. So to conclude, the best seo strategy is not a tactic or a trick, it is simply about paying attention to all of the important parts of SEO. SEO - Number One Strategy to Boost Your SEO

Your Web Page Title, often referred to as your page Title Tag, is a very important factor to consider when optimizing your website to achieve high Google rankings. Get your Page Title Tags right and it is really going to help you get that 1st Page Google ranking. What website designers usually do is just put your company name in the Web page title tags. That is fine if you are just optimizing your website for your company name, but lets face it, most people do not know what your company name is, so by having just your company name in your webpage title it is not really doing you much good. What you really want to do is to include your keywords in your pages titles, because that is what most people will be searching for. The Title Text usually appears in the Blue Bar at the top of every web page. Putting your Keywords in your Page Title is of utmost importance. Imagine you are in a Library searching for a book on Internet Marketing, you will be faced with hundreds of books on Internet Marketing, what do you do next? You would probably look at the titles printed on the spines of the books until you see the one that looks relevant to what you are searching for, you then look inside the book to see if it matches exactly what you need. This is very similar to how Google works. First of all someone searches a keyword on Google e.g. Golf Balls. Google looks at all the web pages in its database that have the words 'Golf Balls' in the Page Titles (or as in our analogy - spines). If the web pages do not have the words Golf Balls in the Page Titles then it would be a major problem. You need to make it as easy as possible for Google to find your pages. There are other factors Google uses, but you want to make your site as obvious as possible to Google when someone is searching for what you offer. So, by putting your keywords in the Page Title the site stands a very good chance of getting listed when that term is searched. Top 5 Common SEO Mistakes

So you built your website, with hopes and dreams of internet riches, and the site looks great. But no one's coming to it! Then you start learning SEO, and you're feeling a little bit more confident about it. Here are a few easy mistakes that people make when learning SEO, to look out for as you start doing more SEO work for your site:

Website Optimization (SEO) Explained in Brief

Search engine optimisation (seo) is the process of optimising and promoting a website over the Internet for top rankings in search engines. A number of factors are important when optimising a website, including the content and structure of the website's copy and page layout, the HTML meta-tags and the submission process as well as off page factors, such as the number of links you have to your website.

What is Search Engine Optimization? - SEO

If you search Google for the phrase 'What is Search Engine Optimization?' there are approximately 325 million results. You could ask 100 Internet marketers what SEO is and they would probably all give you a different, long-winded answer.

Essentials of an SEO Strategy

Search Engine Optimization is the most talked about topic today and there is a significant factor supporting it: the key to earn dollars on the internet is traffic and search engine optimization can get you huge traffic if done properly. Pay per Click may give you instant traffic but it's very expensive and generally not affordable for many people. This makes search engine optimization an effective and affordable option. looking at search engine optimization with a broader perspective, we can see that there two classes of search engine optimization techniques: on-page and off-page optimization. All existing search engine optimization techniques which are used can assort in to these two categories. The first category is on-page optimization. As its name suggests, on-page optimization is carried out on the pages of the website. It involves laying out the web pages in such a manner that they become search-engine friendly. The fact that here we are dealing with our own site makes it a safer option to carry out. Every factor involved in on-page optimization is under our control. We can manipulate them according to our needs and test various combinations and then choose the best strategy which works the best for us. There are many things you can do for on-page optimization. The first one is to use good titles for the pages. The inclusion of the targeted keywords in a title makes the title a good title. Secondly, the keywords should be placed inside H1 tags. Search Engines always give higher importance to text placed within H1 tags. Another important thing that should be taken care of is the internal linking of the website. The relevant pages in the website should be interlinked to each other as it makes the site more search-engine friendly. The second category is off-page optimization. As its name suggests, this category involves all activities which are performed off-line i.e. other than the pages of the website. This fact makes it a difficult technique as here we don't have control over the factors and the application becomes more difficult. "More pain more gain". The difficulty attached to off-page optimization makes it more important. Mostly off-page optimization determines the success of the search engine optimization activities undertaken. As many people are expert in on-page optimization it is the art of off-page optimization which differentiates us from others. The higher the knowledge of off-page optimization higher is the chances of beating the competitors. There are many things which come under off-page optimization like article writing and submission, directory submission etc. But the most important thing is link building. Links are always beneficial for any site till they are relevant. There is a myth that links on pages with high Page rank are more helpful in achieving high ranking in search engines. The fact is that any page with links relevant to the theme of your website will help in achieving high search engine result pages. Obtain as many links as you can, but only from relevant websites.
