Hi, I am having some issues with my Authors component (versions listed below).

Issue #1 - Photos. Somehow, sometimes, when I added a new author's photo, it overwrote a previous author's existing photo - so the new photo showed up with the correct author as well as alongside a preexisting author's bio, blurb, etc.

Issue #2 - Suddenly can't save anything in the authors component. I can edit an existing author, but when I click SAVE, it doesn't do anything and then none of the other buttons work either (apply, cancel, nothing.) I can see them, but they aren't clickable. I have to kill the browser window and go back into the page again. Same thing happens when I try to add a new author - I can fill in all the blanks, but can't save any of my data.

You mean that if you have 2 authors A and B and you upload a photo for B it shows in A too?
It's really weird. First time I hear about this. I think it could be a cache problem. When it happens again please clear your cache or try with a different browser.


It could be a js conflict with other extension you have installed. Please check if you are using a different WYSIWYG editor. If you are, try with Joomla! default editor and check if the problem persists.

Yes. With 2 authors, I upload a photo for author B and it appears for author B but ALSO overwrites the preexisting photo for Author A and appears beside Author A's bio as well. This has happened from multiple computers, with different browsers. However, it appears to be random - sometimes it goes nuts, sometimes it works just fine.

For Issue #2 - I set the default WYSIWYG editor to be editor - no editor, then exited the program and restarted it, but the buttons still don't work. I was able to add a new author, but can't edit the info. Tried it in Firefox and IE. Same issue. Odd, because it used to work just fine.

I am unable to add a ticket because I currently have no active licenses. However, the author/photo issue is ongoing, and authors are getting upset when their photos are replaced by someone else. Most recently, my latest author addition (ID #228) was added. His photo appears with his bio, but ALSO appears in place of the photo for the author with ID #103, who was added a year ago and whose photo had previously worked just fine. A fix for this would be greatly appreciated - active license or not.
