It has transformed my site completely and the amount of time updating the front page has reduced to zero - well worth the money and well done iJoomla."

    "...it's easy to install, setup and use and does what it says...it turned what was a very boring Joomla site into a much more interesting entertainment industry news portal...The news portal is good, but put it together with their Magazine, SideBars and Scroller and you start to get a genuine news solution."

    "I have NEVER found a news component that was worth installing for joomla until this one. It is FANTASTIC... it is very easy to install and setup and if you do have support problems, the iJoomla crew is right there to help with any problems you might have. I cannot recommend them enough and I am very hard to please."

    "This component is lightning fast to set up, it detects content and really configures itself... all that's left is a little housekeeping and a little styling so it doesn't look like every other copy of the component and well worth the price."

    This hack works for version 0.0.16 or later:

    The pathway implementation for iJoomla News Portal requires a small change to a joomla core file.
    This file is located in the includes directory and is called joomla.php.

    You will need to find the following line of code:

    require_once ( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/includes/pathway.php' );

    comment it out like so:

    //require_once ( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/includes/pathway.php' );

    We get a lot of messages about iJoomla Magazine and the iJoomla News Portal. Some publishers are struggling to decide which component suits their site best.

    These are two very different components that do very different things. It's important to make the right choice.

    I don't get it, why can't I just use Joomla, why do I need this news portal?
    Thursday, 25 January 2007

    Joomla is great but is limited with what you can do with it. You can keep using core Joomla to display your news and it will still look a tad boring and more like a blog than CNN. With our component you can have a truly dynamic news pages and with a complete style and layout control.

    Thursday, 25 January 2007

    First, you will need a Joomla site, and permission to install components. If you're not sure you have that permission, ask your hosting service. You will also need basic knowledge of Joomla and at least a few content items.

    Thursday, 25 January 2007
    No! iJoomla News Portal allows you to use your existing content. You won't need to re-enter any content. It will also add any new items automatically to your news portal.

    Thursday, 25 January 2007

    Assuming you already have different sections and categories as well as content items, all you need to do is to install iJoomla News Portal and create a menu link to it, all your published sections/categories/content items will be displayed. Once you've installed it, you can optionally customize the looks of the different zones as well as the layouts of the 3 pages.

    Thursday, 25 January 2007
    iJoomla News Portal can be used alongside other components without a problem. We can't guarantee we will be 100% compatible with all the components out there though. If you encounter a problem, please let us know.
