No, but you can install iJoomla Search & Archive on one domain and on any sub domains or sub directories.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

iJoomla Search & Archive was released under a commercial license. Our extensions are not derivative works, so they don't have to be released under the GPL license. The only exception is the search module which is released under GPL alone.

Login to the admin backend, go to iJoomla Search and Archive and click on the archive icon. Copy the URL that appears on the tab and create a new menu item that links to this URL. You can omit the beginning of the URL (http://www.yourdomain.com) if you want to move this site to your production site.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

By simply creating a menu item that links to the iJoomla Search & Archive component. Search and you'll be taken to the search page.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

Yes, you can control the color of text and the background of ten keywords, just like Google's cache feature. Go wild.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

Not at this point. The extension will only search in content items: static, dynamic, live or archived.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

The thumbnails are automatically generated from your article images. If you placed an image on the article's image tab, iJoomla Search will use the first image it finds there to generate a thumbnail. If there's no image in the image tab, it will use the first image in the intro text. And if there's no image there, it will take the first image it finds in the full text of the article.

All thumbnails generated are real thumbnails and not a resized version of the same file. It makes the pag...

On the whole, we've used style classes that already exist on your template's css file, so the style should be consistent with the rest of the site. However, you can enter any existing class name for each element on the style tab. On some elements, we've allowed you to set your own style: for example, on the background and border of search result items.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

Yes. Just change the settings on the archive tab on the backend.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

You can easily choose which sections and categories to search. Just un-publish the sections/categories you don't want your visitors to search.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

No, we didn't feel you'd need it. It's such a straightforward extension and every field on the backend has an info icon next to it with an explanation. It's pretty tough to get lost with this one.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

Yes, you can choose to show or hide any of the search fields you want.

    Monday, 22 October 2007
We've divided the archive page into different areas and called each area a "zone." These zones can be used to display sections/categories, authors, and a whole lot more. Not only can you choose which zone to display, you can also set their layout and redefine their order. It's completely flexible. So if all the articles on your site are written by the same person, for example, you'd probably want to leave out the Author Zone. However, if you have many contributors, you could use the zone to link...

You can see a complete comparison table here. iJoomla Search gives your visitors many more options for browsing your site, including the ability to search by author, date and category. They'll find what they're looking for, stay on your site longer, and be more likely take action, whether that's clicking an ad unit, signing up to your newsletter or buying a product.

    Monday, 22 October 2007

There are lots of benefits! The biggest is that it helps you get more out of your existing content. Instead of leaving your vintage articles buried in the depths of your site, users can find them, retrieve them and read them. Offering an advanced search function that ensures your users find what they're looking for will also make your site more user-friendly and increase your site's stickiness. That's all good news for you.
