Post subject: {mosimage} tag without a graphics file?
|
|
|
I insert the {mosimage} tag into all my content items (200+ news items a day) and then have a SQL query that runs through and inserts graphics into any that have an associated key word. I'm seeing that the News Portal sometimes (just sometimes!) will display a box with some text from the title when there is no graphics file coupled with the {mosimage} tag.
I'm wondering if this is something you're aware of or if there is something else in the content of the articles that would trigger the strange box display?
Note that my earlier post of issues with the PNG graphics display is a separate, although similar, issue.
Thanks. |

I think what you are describing is what firefox shows when there is no image in the location it's supposed to be. It shows the caption. IE would show a broken image. Is that what you mean? If yes, maybe the images have a wrong path or are located outside the site? _________________ Merav

It's the same in Firefox and IE. It isn't every case where the {mosimage} tag is as every item has one whether there is a graphic or not. I've attached a screen shot so you can see (the lower right corner item is the one) how it looks.

Maybe IE 7 then?
It's a clear case of a missing image or a wrong path to an image. what happens when you right click on this image (text) to see the path? _________________ Merav

It shows the path to the item with no mention of the graphic or the graphic file (of course there is no associated file).

That's the link from the graphics box that displays the title - it's the same one included in the file I attached before.
I just want to stress that this isn't happening on every graphic or every graphic that the same one. It's very, very random. |

This is strange. We will have to take a closer look. Can you post a support ticket with this or at least post the URL here? _________________ Merav

Sorry, I should have mentioned the URL before. The developmental site is: www.johncarnes.com
I can find no rhyme or reason for those instances where it exhibits this behavior. As I mentioned, it seems completely random.
I do have an alternate solution if nothing else surfaces, and that's to write a SQL command to remove the {mosimage} tags where no graphic/image is specified. |

| Take a look at the image size that you are allowing increase it and see if you get the image back I had to do this on some of my rss feeds, also what version are you using I'm using 21 and It works fine for me with the increased image size of 130 px. |

These images are added by a SQL query/script and do not come in via RSS. I tried the image size change just to be sure but no difference. Good thought though. Thanks. |
