Post subject: Assigning a Module to "left" in IJoomla News Porta
|
|
|
Hi,
I would like to put some modules into the "left" position of iJoomla News Portal. But there is actually no "left". My template is Sporticus News. Can I create this somehow?
Thanks. |

What you can do is edit the HTML of the layout and add a third column, and place the module zone tags there, does this make sense? _________________ Merav

So, I now have the module 1 position on the left of my home page. This is fine. But I don't know how to put anything into that zone.
Also, I don't know why the mainmenu shows up in my module 2 position. It just kinda happened by default. I guess I need to know where to control what goes into those modules positions. There didn't seem to be any instructions in the manual.
Thank you. |

Ok, now you have to decide which modules you want to have on that location. Let's say you want to show the poll module.
Go to modules->site modules
Open the poll module
Change the position to a position that's not used by your template. For example, advert1 is usually not used
Make sure on the right side that "all" is highlighted
Make sure that the module is published
save
Now go to the news portal backend
Go to design->zones
Open module 1 position
Choose "advert1" from the drop down menu
Save
Now check the front end, you will see the poll module in that position _________________ Merav

Ok. It's a two step process.
That also explains how mainmenu got ino module 2 position in the first place.
Thanks Merav. |

| why is it when the above is done the css suffix from the module is not applied within inews? Its as if once the module is displayed through inews it looses all css style! |

The news portal doesn't support module suffix at this point, this is something we're working on for the next version. _________________ Merav
