Post subject: Magazine Description Not Displaying
|
|
|
Hi all,
I think there is a bug in version 2.1.04
I just upgraded to 2.1.04 and have decided not to use the magazine as front page component.
But now the magazine description is not displaying.
Have tried a reinstall, clearing cache files etc. but cannot get it to work. All that is showing is the vertical and horizontal items.
Any ideas.
Regards,
Paul |

Paul,
Did you make any changes to your layout? Please open the layout you are using for this issue and make sure that magazine description tag is still there. If it is, please open a support ticket. _________________ Merav

Hi Merav,
I think it must be a bug. I uninstalled the lates tversion and reinstalled the previous one (2.1.03) and the description is now working.
For the time being until the bug is sorted out, I have installed the magazine as a static html page which is a great idea for search engine optimization, because you can do meta stuff like keywords and description etc. Plus, what ever you enter in the static page as a title, shows in the browser address bar nicely.
Other people might like to know this can be done if they just want to make nice static looking pages anywhere on their website.

Hi,
Ok, I will pass this along to our programmers to investigate. Thanks for the heads up. _________________ Merav

Hi,
You can fix it very easy, you can go in components/com_magazine/magazine.php
In this file is a line of code:
}elseif ($func='show_edition'){
and should be:
}elseif ($func=='show_edition'){
That change will fix the problem.
Thanks, |

This "bug" still exists in version 2.1.05!
By the way:
On bottom of the administration of Magazine shows "Powered by iJoomla Magazine Version 2.1.04"
The "About" page shows "Installed + Magazine version 2.1.05" |
