Downloaded the new News Portal. Removed the old version and installed the new version. Get the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /home/jcarnes2/public_html/includes/database.php on line 489

    any ideas?

    Dev site: johncarnes.com

    Thanks.

Gee, 9 days and no response? You guys on vacation?

Here's what I got back from my IT/server guy:

So in a nutshell… Your script is consuming a lot of ram and exceeding the allocated memory for your site. To fix it I had to up all the sites to 48MB (up from 32MB). Then the next error pops because your script exceeds the 30sec timeout. So I upped the timeout to 60sec and it still times out. Next I upped the timeout to 90sec and it now completes. It takes forever to display the web page. Check it out.

So basically we will see a server-wide performance hit in order to run the script. You might check with the developer to see if there are any settings that can be adjusted with the script (component, module, or plugin) to make it consume less memory and run quicker. No one will wait the 70+ seconds it take for the page to load.

So now what? Am I the only one with this issue? Any ideas or thoughts?
