Yes, just create an issue for each and assign the layout you want for each issue.

Can Each Issue Be Called Seperately FROM a MAIN MENU navigation

mainmenu > new menu > component > magazine > HOME

mainmenu > new menu > component > magazine > ABOUT US

mainmenu > new menu > component > magazine > SERVICES

I was not able to do it like this...The only way I could do this was to edit mySQL database menu table.

Is there an easier way?

I have the same question as the luckyy1...

Need to have a link from a 'mainmenu' module to a specific magazine, or issue, etc. (not using magazine or issue, etc modules)

you can do a link to something like index.php?option=com_magazine&func=show_magazine&id=3&I
temid=31, but there are obviously inherent disadvantages to doing it this way.

There is no way to link to a specific issue. The only way is to link to URL.

Does this suggestion ffrom Tfracon help?

I've a similar problem. In my case I solve that hacking the phpmyadmin.

1- In your menu, create the links of each magazine using url-link.
2- Go to phpmyadmin.
3- Find jos_menu and click to browse.
4- Find your menu and magazines (observe menutype and name field). Remember that phpmyadmin sometimes show multiple pages in jos_menu.
5- Choose one of the magazines link and click edit.
6- In the field 'type' you should find: 'url'. Change it to 'components' and save.
7- Now joomla recognize each menu item as a component.

Good luck.
Tfracon.

Hi,

Please contact your hosting service and ask them how to access your phpmyadmin.

Also, I think that if you are a beginner, you should try to get a handle of the simple things first and then when you get better, try to do the more complicated stuff. Just my 2 cents, it could be overwhelming to start with the advance stuff. Wink
