I've a similar problem. In my case I solve that hacking the phpmyadmin.
1- In your menu, create the links of each magazine using url-link.
2- Go to phpmyadmin.
3- Find jos_menu and click to browse.
4- Find your menu and magazines (observe menutype and name field). Remember that phpmyadmin sometimes show multiple pages in jos_menu.
5- Choose one of the magazines link and click edit.
6- In the field 'type' you should find: 'url'. Change it to 'components' and save.
7- Now joomla recognize each menu item as a component.
Good luck.

Hi all
I'd like to know if anyone has come up with a workable solution for this? I did try the phpmyadmin workaround suggested above, but I got this error:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/tbl_replace. php on line 155
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/tbl_replace. php:155) in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/libraries/co mmon.lib.php on line 1154
and it would not save the change to "components".
I having been searching everywhere for a solution to this. The site I am working on is at www.SuperSmartGames.com. What I need is to be able to use the iJoomla layout (either as separate magazines or simply separate issues for a single magazine...I don't really care)for the "Little Kids", "Big Kids", "Teenagers" etc menu items at the top of the page.
But as of now, trying to use the iJoomla layout on those pages breaks the menu set-up and doesn't highlight the correct menu item (as the "forum" menu is highlighted on this page and in this section). And it also doesn't allow the child menu items under the menu, like it does on the fronttpage, which uses the magazine component.
Please, please, anyone? |
