Post subject: Multiple magazines

Hi!
I am building a site that will require 30 different magazines. Some will contain some of the same articles but with geographic area specific information.
I would like each magazine to be accessible by direct link, and the latest issue of each magazine will be emailed as well to subscribers once a month.
How do I make it so that each magazine is seperate and only linked to each other on the main homepage? In other words the customers in each location will receive their specific URL (www.domain.com/magazine1) which will bring them to their specific targetted magazine. And when they click "home" in the menu it will take them back to the homepage of their specific magazine not to the root site.
sincerely,

There are a few ways to do this:
1. same joomla installation: just create a different magazine and use the menu module to link to each magazine
2. you can create a sub domain or a sub directory with new joomla installation for each magazine - but this could be quite a lot of work for no reason _________________ Merav

hi merav!
thanks for the reply.
If I use the menu module to link them, what format will the actual magazine URL have?
For instance, will it be www.domain.com/index.php?magazine_id=(number) or something to that affect, or will I be able to secifiy a folder name instead like www.domain.com/(magazine title) ?
Also once on those magazine can their menus be controlled seperately? so magazine#1 will have a home button that brings it back to its own main page, and a contactus button that brings up its own contact page with specific info for that magazine subscriber or viewer. Magazine#2 would have its own home button and contactus and articles page |

From your questions I understand that you want every magazine to be on its on directory and have its own contact us page, etc. This can be done with different joomla installations. It's posible to do, but a lot of work!
The alternative is not so pretty URLs for the magazine but a lot less work. _________________ Merav
