Post subject: Magazine as Gallery

I had the idea of using the magazine component as a basic gallery component.
You would use the image as usual and the intro text becomes the image description. The only change needed would be instead of having a 'read more' link, you would have a 'click to enlarge' link which would open a popup showing a larger image of the thumbnail.
Any thoughts?

Interesting idea, but why not use a regular image gallery? _________________ Merav

Hi Merav,
With most other gallery options, you need to install a Gallery script like Coppermine or Gallery 2 then implement a bridge. Then you have to try and get your gallery template to co-ordinate with your Joomla template. I am a non coder so this makes me a little nervous. I have done it once before sucessfully and its quite a lot of work. Using a component would make backups a lot easier too.
Using Magazine this way would be easy and quite effective I think.
