Post subject: Subscription Module
|
|
|
Hi
Thanks for version 2 and the ability to send as an eNewsletter.
What would be excellent is a subscription module so users can subscribe to one or more eMagazines/newsletters instead of using the general Joomla log-in.
This is particularly important in Australia where SPAM legislation requires that users must be able to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves and, if possible, verify and activate their membership of the subscriber list.
We will be using iJoomla for about 8-10 individual eMagazines/newsletters and want to be able to mail these out to the appropriate lists of subscribers rather than a general list of site members.
Is there a 3rd party plugin to do this or is it something you can add to enhance your already very useful mailing feature?
Here's hoping

Thanks Merav - very speedy response
I understand the need to progress v2 to stable - we'll have a look at what you suggest, but I really do feel that a built-in subscribe would make iJoomla unbeatable as it would serve two major purposes - that of providing an online magazine (which it does admirable) and that of providing a fully featured eNewsletter component (none of the currently available components is yet mature enough).
I look forward to future development and will keep you informed if we manage to solve the problem ourselves.
Many thanks again

I second the suggestion. I have been trying to work this one too. Perhaps iJoomla could develop a newsletter component to fit with Magazine. The others available are not mature enough to trust.

mdb76,
I actually agree that there is no really good newlstter solution out there and it's something we did and do consider. But as you know, we first need to get the beta version out of the way before we can start thinking of anything else _________________ Merav

Hi
We do have a copy of Phil Taylor's mosListManager.
Is it possible to send the magazine newsletter using this component? Your previous email seemed to suggest that other list managers could be used to deliver the eMagazine/Newsletter.
I don't seem to be able to see a way to define which list manager to use in the iJoomla backend.
Is there a hack I can use?

Sorry if I confused you. No, there is no way to send the magazine using other components. _________________ Merav
