how to show beginning of registered articles

I remember a past version of Magazine allowing us to show the initial 50 characters of all articles whether or not they were for users or the public. Now the only articles that are shown are public articles. I think Merav said something about having to buy another component but I forget now and I can't find the post. How can I get that ability to show the beginning of all articles and if it was registered, you would have to log in to read the rest?

Yeah, the way it worked before was actually a bug. You can add a subscription component:

I don't need an entire component, just that bug - any chance of you telling me how to put it back?
