Title: Is there a way to disable... Post by: rhantson on May 13, 2008, 06:08:49 AM Is there a way to disable iJoomlaNews from displaying the Header Titles such as "Top Stories", Featured Stories, More News, etc etc etc?
I've tried disabling them from the administration side, and it still shows up on the front page of the site. I would like to remove them because I don't like the titles, and can't rename them anywhere. Can someone shed some light on this issue? Thanks! RH Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Did you go to "Zone" and - for instance - "Heading", then set the "Show headings" drop-down to "No". Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: rhantson on May 15, 2008, 09:10:21 AM Tried that, it has no effect on the output... in fact, the output controls for any of the heading has no effect, none of the parameters that you can set for your headings will work, you can't change font, color, or anything from the back end...
Would love to fix it, but I think the area to actually fix it is in the compiled region of code... so I can't do anythign about it... RH Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Perhaps you should put in a support ticket. Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: RicardoCorai on May 15, 2008, 01:40:37 PM Hi,
In order to disable those titles you need to edit the zones and then, in zone name tab set as NO "Show Zone Name". Do the same for each zone. Best regards, Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... I'm going to submit a bug report... RH Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: smoothdude11 on May 19, 2008, 09:21:55 AM what version of the news portal are you using? Because there are many bugs in the new version 1.0 of the news portal and I had to go back and use the old one beta 0.0.24. :(

We have been thinking of a reversion 0.0.24 because of speed and formatting issues (especially image resizing). Sharon Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: smoothdude11 on May 19, 2008, 09:34:12 AM my biggest problem was with the section headings not showing up. Apparently ijoomla knows about this and we have been promised a new verson sometime, but after checking the forums there have been many issues with the new version. I don't really need all the extra module zones so I am using the beta and if your site is not working properly I would wait until they fix the bugs before upgrading.
Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: RicardoCorai on May 20, 2008, 09:12:45 AM Please download the extension again and reinstall.
If the problems persist, let me know. Best regards, Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: sgaughan on May 20, 2008, 11:45:40 AM ... I would wait until they fix the bugs before upgrading. The bugs and performance issues were intolerable so we reverted to the previous version. Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: RicardoCorai on May 20, 2008, 12:38:02 PM ... Please check your server error log and let me know if there is any reference to iJoomla News Portal. Best regards, Title: Re: Is there a way to disable... Post by: sgaughan on May 20, 2008, 01:41:08 PM Are you using iJoomla News Portal 1.0.1? Please check your server error log and let me know if there is any reference to iJoomla News Portal. I have not installed iJoomla News Portal 1.0.1 at this time. As stated earlier, we reverted to .24 pending improvements. I am very reluctant to upgrade any further until I can see evidence that the software is fully functional and acceptably debugged. Sharon
