I d/l'd the 3 Column Layout Ver. 2 modification from the free downloads area, and in the instructions it says to:

I found the backend area as described above, but the directions kind of leave you hanging with the assumption that you know exactly how to then copy it and where in that Edit Layout (for each page) you're supposed to add it.  It seems that there is a table there -- and maybe it's just that I've never played with this part of Joomla before...but am I supposed to past the modification code into that table into an existing area, or add a new area, or something else?

Any help or clues appreciated!

Go to:
1)newsportal admin
2)design...layout
3)you'll see home,section,category
4)click home then in your editor click HTML
5) copy and paste the new layout in
6) save
7) repeat on section,category

You should be good to go.

Ah!  Just had a major "duh" moment as I thought you were referring to the text editor and didn't notice the html editor there.  Clicked it and yup, makes sense now.
