iJoomla Digistore / Show off your DigiStore / DigiStore at author website: guidorosas.com
|
on: July 02, 2008, 07:10:28 AM
|
Take a look at the possibilities at the Spanish-language site - you'll see DigiStore (v1.3) integrated into the site known as "Tienda" (Shop, in Spanish) with tangible and intangible products. It's been a great project, with several customization tips from the professional support of the iJoomla team. It has several more categories & digital products to add, including audiobooks and videos. I'll be upgrading to the most recent version as well, but it's a wonderful example of DigiStore! iJoomla Ad Agency / Support Questions / Re: Serious Performance Issue

Thanks, Ricardo ...wasn't sure when this was exactly the situation/update that is in the change log because the Change Log for this product (and all other iJoomla products) does not include the version release date.

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / customization of the mambot/plugin
|
on: June 11, 2008, 10:18:36 PM
|
|
I'd like to know if & how much customization of the mambot is possible, to somehow link specifically to the "types" or "format" or "presentations" (presentaciones, in Spanish) of products.
For example: Book Title ebook (PDF) audiobook video printed book
Each one would be linked directly to the using the 'add to cart' mambot, but I want to visually distinguish each way (format) to buy the product with a different 'add to cart' button. So: is it possible to customize the plugin to achieve this and/or how would I integrate/code an icon/GIF with the plugin??
Thanks for your help and suggestions - again! John

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / multiple emails for order: sent without purchase/license number & instructions
|
on: May 30, 2008, 03:06:03 PM

I'm a bit baffled. I think I missed something, and even after re-reading the manual I don't know where to edit/fix the order-purchase-download procedure/process: After a successful PayPal purchase, clicking the "Return to site" button brings the purchaser back to the index page of the shop. Isn't it supposed to link to the thank-you page? The DigiStore issued 3 thank-you emails - the first one with the correct amount, but the next two with zero amounts and additional order numbers. Is this a bug, or do I need to correct something? [The thank-you page is OK, but perhaps I need to tell PayPal where to link after purchase, and if so where?] Neither the email or the webpage instruct the user where to download the product. Do I need to edit the thank-you email with any additional text or URL? Does EACH product need to have its own particular download-license instruction/confirmation email? Looks like I'm almost there - your suggestions are most appreciated and I'm very eager to post the shop as an example in your forums! John

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / Shipping pricing flexibility
|
on: May 26, 2008, 12:12:17 PM

Reference post: http://www.ijoomla.com/option,com_smf/Itemid,6000/topic,207.0/[Ricardo &] Merav recommended to create a package that then controls/calculates a n established/flat shipping fee. DigiStore has been updated since this post was written, so I am wondering if and how shipping can be calculated using a type of fee-plus basis. For example, $5 for the first item, then $2 each additional item; or, $5 per order. Let me know if this is already in the extension, or if is a feature request for the next or upcoming version. Thanks, John

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / Sentence fragment - unable to edit/translate
|
on: May 23, 2008, 12:53:42 AM

Hi! I found a language string that isn't in the language file: Products are succesfully added [followed by (in Spanish):] agregado ["added" which is therefore repeated] al carrito, haz click aquĆ para ver su carrito. I couldn't find/access the file to edit this fragment, and perhaps I'm the first to spot it. Can you tell me how to edit that please? Thanks, John

iJoomla Magazine / Troubleshooting / Re: Can't add sections or categories

I just wanted to add something to this outdated post....
It seems offensive and inappropriate to me as a web developer and a fellow customer the complete lack of individual responsibility by this 'unhappy' customer. In the end, it seems he got help and this was resolved - despite his best intentions to share his rant here, without coming back to share gratitude & satisfaction.
So I'll do that for him!
Kudos to Merav, Rob and the rest of the iJoomla team for their effort, their products, their customer support and their patient, tactful and helpful attention in these forums.
Regards, John
