I am using PHP 5.2.4 and I can confirm this problem. 

The solution? 

1 Download files
2 Unzipped files
3.Re-archived files (I used the "tar.gz" format)
4 Re-upload

I am a little confused using the JA Teline template and iJoomla News Portal.  With News Portal you set the default page to the Component.  With JA Teline it tells you to remove the Home Page and use the default module (JA_NEWS I think) in a specially made module position.  This seems conflicting to me.  Can you explain how I should do this?  Thanks.
