iJoomla Digistore / Report Bugs / Re: Orders not capturing?

I just opened a ticket against this same issue. It seems that DigiStore keys off of the "Return to Merchant" feature in PayPal to complete the transaction, which is flawed because that step is completely optional, so customers do NOT have to do it, in which case DigiStore does not log the transaction, although PayPal has collected the money. This is REALLY bad.

iJoomla Digistore / Report Bugs / Broken Orders
|
on: December 27, 2007, 07:28:45 PM

I had someone make an order from our website through digistore, so I got notified about the payment by PayPal. However, digistore (back end) is not showing me anything related to that order!
The "Orders" page shows me nothing, and also the stock for that particular product has not been decreased by 1 as you would expect, so that transaction is completely missing in digistore.
In an effort to narrow this issue down for the developers, I went back and tested different scenarios. The problem seems to be that if the customer completes the transaction through PayPal but does NOT return to the merchant's website (by clicking on Return To Merchant button), the transaction is NOT logged by digistore, although PayPal has collected the money!
I believe PayPal's API provides a way to know when the transaction is complete without returning to merchant's website, since that step is totally optional, so many customers just don't return to the merchant's website, and as a result, digistore does not record the transaction.
This is a serious flaw in digistore as we cannot confirm orders that way.
Thanks, -Ihab

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / Re: "Thank You" Page Broken

Alright. I'll work around this by adding text saying "ignore the license below", but I really really hope you guys fix this issue in the future.
Once other idea would be to have a flag associated with the product that indicates whether it has a license.

I have been working with your support team on this, and they have suggested a _hack_ to remove the licenses table. However, unfortunately, this just won't do it at this point. I was able to get rid of the table, but the text that talks about downloading the license is still there. Sure, we could probably remove that text as well, but then it's broken if if you're selling other goods that are _downloadable_.
The point here is that the contents of the "thank you" page should be based upon the type of the product you're selling. This would seem like a basic requirement to support product type "service", and not an fancy feature.
Try it for yourself. I'm confident you will agree.

iJoomla Digistore / Suggestions/Ideas / Re: Event registration/calendar Component

That's exactly what I'm using digistore for. Right now, we plan to continue using our calendar component and "selling" event RSVP's as a "service" in digistore, but it would be great to have that kind of integration within digistore itself, or some additional component that would work with it.

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / "Thank You" Page Broken
|
on: November 24, 2007, 11:55:58 AM

I'm trying to setup DigiStore with products of type "Service", and it seems that the "thank you" page is broken. It shows the "thank you for your order" message, but it also shows "My Licenses / Downloads" and expects the buyer to download something. Since the product is of type "service", there is nothing to download, nor is there any licenses associated with with the product.
Is there any quick way to get rid of this?
Thanks, -Ihab

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / Re: demo different than what we got

Merav,
Yes, we already bought the product.
We have been huge fans of iJoomla for a long time (and have bought several products) so this is meant to be constructive criticism. Having your demo run your to-be-released version of the product is probably a good thing. However, if you're someone who haven't been following iJoomla forums (and you can't expect everyone to follow the forums all the time) and you just go to iJoomla website and play with the demo, it is _not_ clear that what you're buying is _not_ what the demo runs. There is no mention whatsoever of what version you're buying vs. what version the demo is running.
We really thought we were buying whatever the demo was running, and although we are willing to wait for your team to get the product through QA, we were disappointed when we bought the product and found out it was the previous version.
Thanks, WBL Team

iJoomla Digistore / Support Questions / demo different than what we got

Hi,
We have been excited about digistore since it was first announced a while ago, but when we looked at it back then, it was still in beta and it did not have certain things we were looking for, so we thought we'd give it some time.
Well, we checked back today and played with the demo, which had everything we were looking for, namely publishing dates for products, ability to sell a service, stock count, and nested categories. We went head and bought the product, but alas, the version that we got seemed like the old one.
What's going on? Do you have some development version running on your demo site? One would expect the demo to be what you would actually get.
Thanks, WBL Team
