iJoomla Magazine / Troubleshooting / Re: migrate to iJoomla Magazine 1.5 native

Hi, I checked this procedure and you will need to follow these steps: 1-Make a full backup and separately export iJoomla Magazine´s tables. 2-Upgrade from J! 1.0.x to J! 1.5.x. 3-Install iJoomla Magazine for J! 1.5. 4-Replace your iJoomla Magazine 1.5´s tables with the tables exported in the step 1. Please let me know if you have any doubts. Best regards,
Ricardo: Thank you. I guess the last step then is to delete my live installation of 1.0.15 and upload the new 1.5 into the live directory after it's built, right? If that's it, I'll do it all Friday night when readership slacks off.

Ok, I can understand that if all content would be stored in the basic joomla tables. My question is, what happens to the content in the jos_magazine tables... or are those tables not iJoomla magazine related?
Near as I can tell, there is no way yet to migrate the Magazine tables over to the new installation. iJoomla Support told me migrating to 1.5 was not supported. My content migrated fine, but I lost all issues and articles. It appears the only way to successfully migrate over is to lose all Magazine data from the previous installation and just start fresh.

My magazine tables did not migrate over. I ran the mtwMigrator component. None of my issues or any magazine content migrated over.
The component is installed on the new site, but it is empty.
What is the preferred method for migrating to 1.5 with the iJoomla Magazine?

iJoomla News Portal / Pre-Sales Questions / Re: Considering the News Portal...

Your current template is very nice. I like it. Maybe you can make small changes on your banner header. I suggest you to do the change first and then come back here and ask for a review. Best regards, Thank you. I've worked hard at this template. It's originally a template called Joomla_Black, available here. I finally set up a test site here, which I am currently copying over all of my files so it is identical to the live site. I'll play with the test site. I'd like to widen the layout and perhaps use a different layout from the Magazine component. I may go to 970 pixels wide and play with it from that point. Once this site is identical to my live site, the first thing I'm going to do is update it to Joomla 1.5 and iron out the problems there, then I'll do the major upgrade to the live site. Your answer is a relief to me. Thanks for your kind words about my template. I wasn't looking forward to 20+ hours of styling starting from scratch. I like the Magazine component a lot. GK

iJoomla News Portal / Pre-Sales Questions / Considering the News Portal...

I'm considering buying the News Portal for http://www.enewspf.com
I'd like some feedback on my current layout using iJoomla Magazine. I'd like to perhaps move to a wider, fixed layout, 970px to 1000px, with more room for ads, etc. I'd also like a brighter template with more white space. Or, I may do nothing at all. I'm just considering my options right now. Any suggestions on making the move to the News Portal from the Magazine component? Thanks. Gary K.

This is good news that the RSS and Magazine components have been released.
I'll probably make the jump to 1.5 as soon as the Magazine component is available for download. I'll run it on a test site first.
I'll have to disable the Archive component until the new release.
Thanks.

iJoomla Magazine / Suggestions/Ideas / iJoomla for Joomla! 1.5???

Just wondering what the status is of the iJoomla extensions for Joomla! 1.5?
I have the magazine component, which is very important to me. Also iJoomla Search and Archive. I see the RSS extension, which I recently purchased, has already been released in beta for 1.5.
How are things coming along with the other two?
