1  iJoomla News Portal / Support Questions / Re: upgrade installation article issues on: April 17, 2008, 01:51:35 AM
Hi Ricardo,

yes, looking at the setup after the upgrade, it appears that all settings are correct and has not changed from pre-upgrade, I checked the flow order, category and section inclusion.  All is as they should.

For some reason my article category and sections are not included on the front page.

I have reversed back to the previous version, do you have any other ideas?

I could set up a copy of Joomla Views in a seperate directory from the live site and upgrade if you need me to do that.

Cheers,

2  iJoomla News Portal / Support Questions / upgrade installation article issues on: April 12, 2008, 07:51:32 AM
I upgraded to the latest version of Newsportal and it started showing the wrong (older) articles on the front page.

I had to use last nights backup to get it back to the right 'timeline'.

The newer articles were still there but they were not showing up on the front page for some reason, any idea what would have caused this and how I can fix it when i reinstall the latest version again?

Thanks,

5  iJoomla Sidebars / Support Questions / sidebar with parameters on: January 06, 2008, 12:52:51 AM
Is there anyway or could it be added in future versions to allow a sidebar to forward parameters to the sidebar.

Useless sample:

{sidebar=1 allign=left parm=hello)

And if you use a php-able module like Jumi - you could use that parm in the sidebar.

Practical applications would be to include a link for instance, instead of having to make a seperate sidebar module for each link, you could have one that would use the parameter supplied.

Thanks,

Alin did a great job fixing it for me!

I (would) hope that it will be released in an official release.

It works great - check it out at www.softwareviews.com

8  iJoomla Sidebars / Suggestions/Ideas / register and center justification on: November 07, 2007, 07:05:47 AM
I would love to add two features for SideBars.

1. Currently you can only do justification right (default) and left, why not add center as well?

2. When adding modules to the article, or in my case static page, if the module is registered, allow for a different module to display in its place if user is not registered or special. One example is the usermenu - it shows a blank box if the user is not logged in currently.

http://www.softwareviews.com/user-menu.html - sample - the right box is the user menu and the left one is the login form.

3, It would be nice if you could add the option for rounded corners instead of straight ones.

This is a great product that I got but did not quite understand until just recently, it has a great deal of potential.  Highly recommended!

9  iJoomla News Portal / Support Questions / Re: news portal and cookie path on: November 06, 2007, 01:20:45 AM
is there a similar for the section cookie path as well?

http://www.softwareviews.com/reviews/perl-software/sample-software-review-2007102567.html

clicking on reviews puts you here:

http://www.softwareviews.com/reviews.html

but it should really put you here:

http://www.softwareviews.com/news_portal/reviews/index.html

Thanks,

Hi there,

Is there anyway to go to newsportals section menu when clicking on the section name in the cookie path on top of the article?

Sample:

http://www.softwareviews.com/reviews/perl-software/sample-software-review-2007102567.html

click on Perl Reviews and it brings you to:

http://www.softwareviews.com/reviews/perl-software.html

but I want it to actually go to:

http://www.softwareviews.com/news_portal/reviews/perl-software/index.html

Thanks,

--Tone

ps: I am using Joomla SEF advanced if that helps!

Thanks Merav,

I tried that without it working until I took a closer look at the source, I got it to work with the standard editor, not the joomla standard tinymce editor.

What editor would you recommend (3rd party addon)?

Thanks for your help,

Tony
