So you are using the {module_position1} in the layout section?  You are not the only person to have this problem.  Maybe it is a bug.  I get those problems if my modules are connected to a component, but again they are usually fixed by individually assigning the module to each section.

sorry i forgot to make this clear, my apologies. the modules are not set within ijoomla news portal. they use positions available in my regular template. but they still show when clicking into an ijoomla news article, as shown above.

I just installed a mambot that created a problem similar to yours.  It was the social bookmarking mambot which changes the url of the clicked items.  For example:

http://nintendofanalliance.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=101&Itemid=96

but it really is supposed to be

http://nintendofanalliance.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=101

so as you can see it added Itemid=96 onto the site address which adds all those modules.  I am going to put in a support ticket and see if we can't get this issure solved.

thank for very much for responding. i have that mambot, but do not think it is the issue. ive disabled it and the issue still presents itself. also, ive checked in the sh404sef urls and the link ijoomla produces for that story i showed in the screen shot above is

Code:
index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=125&id=70&lang=en&task=view

so it doesnt match the syntax of the one you posted either.

what version is ijoomla at? maybe im outdated? and can people who got theirs from signing up with lunarpages for hosting, get free upgrades like you would if you purchased it outright?

When you publish a module in joomla the default setting is published under all.  So all your pages are going to have the modules.  All you have to do is go into the module settings and change the published pages to your homepage only.
thanks for replying, but that's joomla basics. i have ensured that those particular modules showing are only set for homepage, yet they still show up on the articles from ijoomla news portal. what im talking about is only occurring with the news portal component articles.

here's a screenshot, and thanks for all the help.

anyone have an idea what causes this? my main page is fine, but when clicking into an article (from a link produced by ijoomla news portal on the homepage), it opens the article up in the mainframe of the page, with all the other modules published only on the homepage showing up there as well.

ive installed the sections module that came with it, but it shows nothing. can someone please help?
