I delayed my site publication and have been waiting until News Portal for Joomla 1.5 comes out. I thought iJoomla has well prepared for Joomla 1.5 and it doesn't take long to get 1.5 compatible version. It's now disappointing me gradually  Cry

In the mean time, disabling the calling of HTML_ijoomla_news::unhtmlentities($str)function can solve my problem temporarily. I don't know if it may cause any other side effects yet.

Hello again,
I did some research on news portal source code. I think the function:
HTML_ijoomla_news::unhtmlentities($str)and HTML_ijoomla_news::cutstring_html ($str) are not working correctly for my case.

I want to make sure all following characters, if exist, will be shown correctly:
-----------------------------
á,à,ả,ã,ạ,a,Á,À,Ả,Ã,Ạ,A

ó,ò,ỏ,õ,ọ,o,ú,ù,ủ,ũ,ụ,u,Ó,Ò,Ỏ,Õ,Ọ,O,Ú,Ù,Ủ,Ũ,Ụ,U

é,è,ẻ,ẽ,ẹ,e,É,È,Ẻ,Ẽ,Ẹ,E

ó,ò,ỏ,õ,ọ,o,Ó,Ò,Ỏ,Õ,Ọ,O

ấ,ầ,ẩ,ẫ,ậ,â,Ấ,Ầ,Ẩ,Ẫ,Ậ,Â

ớ,ờ,ở,ỡ,ợ,ơ,ứ,ừ,ử,ữ,ự,ư,Ớ,Ờ,Ở,Ỡ,Ợ,Ơ,Ứ,Ừ,Ử,Ữ,Ự,Ư

ắ,ằ,ẳ,ẵ,ặ,ă,Ắ,Ằ,Ẳ,Ẵ,Ặ,Ă

ế,ề,ể,ễ,ệ,ê,Ế,Ề,Ể,Ễ,Ệ,Ê

ố,ồ,ổ,ỗ,ộ,ô,Ố,Ồ,Ổ,Ỗ,Ộ,Ô
--------------------------
Could news portal's developers help me on this?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Biocyberman
5  iJoomla News Portal / Troubleshooting / Some characters in "Intro" text of zones doesn't show correctly on: December 19, 2007, 07:52:58 PM
Hello,
Default language for my site is not english (encoding="iso-8859-1"), it is utf-8 encoding instead. Other portions in the "home page", "section" and "category" layouts show font correctly. Only "Intro" portions in those layouts don't display font correctly. I tried changing font face but it didn't work.
How do I fix it?

PS:
Is there a very strict spam control mechanism in this site? It prevented my to post more than two posts in "support questions" sub-forum so I had to post it here. That's too strict. It bothers me a little bit.

Hi RicardoCorai,

Thanks for your reply. The way you mentioned work. I also managed to find out a way to modify joomla code in administrator/components/com_menus a little bit to get it done by mouse clicks.
7  iJoomla News Portal / Support Questions / Re: How to display iJoomla sections in the mainmenu ? on: December 19, 2007, 06:48:51 PM
If you use rocketthemes (rt_sporticus_news in my case) you can go to theme's index.php and there are two lines to config your menu:

Code:
//Menu stuff:
$menu_type = "supersucker"; // module | suckerfish  | supersucker | splitmenu
$menu_name = "mainmenu"; // mainmenu by default, can be any Joomla menu name

You can replace "mainmenu" with "sections". It will work fine!

However, If you want to show categories as sub-menus under sections. The above way doesn't help. I suppose this is a point news portal needs to improve.

8  iJoomla News Portal / Support Questions / How to change default url when creating menu items? on: December 19, 2007, 08:46:30 AM
I am using news portal latest version with Joomla 1.0.13. When I create a new menu item, i.e. for linking to a section. By default an URL like following is set to that menu and I can not edit that URL:  index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=1&id=1&Itemid=81

However I want it to come out like following by default:
index.php?option=com_news_portal&task=category&sectionid=1&id=1&Itemid=81

How do I make it?

10  iJoomla News Portal / Pre-Sales Questions / iJoomla News portal works with Joom!Fish? on: December 08, 2007, 11:39:30 PM
Hello there. We are considering using News portal component for our site. The site will be multilingual. I are not sure news portal can work with multilingual content manager like Joom!Fish. Could you provide some information on this?

Thanks in advance.
