You need to change the menu type or reinstall the template.  The problem is with the rok_menu.php as it can not recognize the variables. Try suckerfish to see if the problem goes away.

Also check out the free component of pagecache.  It works wonders on speeding up your site.  I use it on mine and I have a picture heavy site.

Your best bet is to go to an online speed test of your site.  They will analyze your site and tell you what the biggest parts of your site are.  Also if you have gzip compression on, turn it off because that will help also.

Nice Site.  I also wanted to point out that even though your section pages load quicker, your homepage loads fairly fast.  The reason that your homepage loads more slowly is because on your homepage you have 42 images compared to the 29 of your section pages.  Also on your homepage you have embeded a media file which would be my guess for the slower time.  But the biggest reason is that your homepages is 3303904 bytes while your section pages are 532254 bytes which makes your homepage 6 times bigger than your section pages.

However, I want to point out that your site still loads quickly for me.

try using the pagecache component as it really helps with performance.

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem!!  Have you tried using a different browser?
8  iJoomla News Portal / Report Bugs / Section and Category Headers Missing on: June 01, 2008, 09:25:16 AM
In the zone of section and category articles, the headings are missing so when the articles are displayed it seems like it is a random bunch of articles.  This has been a problem for some time now and I will continue using the older version until a fix is made.

Thanks

I also wanted to point out that in the new version of news portal when I tried to link the jomcomments with the leading stories I got an error with the sidebarmambot.php file.  I don't know if it was a compatibility issue or not but it blocked my whole site from showing up.

I have been waiting for awhile for a fix on the section headings and category headings.  I thought that version 1.0.1 would have fixed the problem but it didn't.  Sad  Oh well.  The beta version works well for me.

Try uninstalling the component and reinstalling.  This usually fixes problems like this.

my biggest problem was with the section headings not showing up.  Apparently ijoomla knows about this and we have been promised a new verson sometime, but after checking the forums there have been many issues with the new version.  I don't really need all the extra module zones so I am using the beta and if your site is not working properly I would wait until they fix the bugs before upgrading.

what version of the news portal are you using?  Because there are many bugs in the new version 1.0 of the news portal and I had to go back and use the old one beta 0.0.24.   Sad

Check out the component joomlapack, as it can make an installer from your dev site and load it exactly the way that you want it on your live site.  I have used this component many times and it has saved my life.

You will need to modify the language file.  Just to a CTR+F to find the line that you need to modify.
15  iJoomla Sidebars / Support Questions / Re: Sidebars 1.0.8 - round corners not working on: May 13, 2008, 01:44:40 AM
I haven't heard anything on this and I don't know of anyone who has solved this yet.  My rounded sidebars are not working either but I don't really need them either.  Put in a support ticket if you don't get a response.
