iJoomla Ad Agency / Support Questions / Moving license to another domain
|
on: October 26, 2008, 03:15:29 AM
|
|
Hello everyone,
I have Ad Agency installed on a domain where I no longer have any use for it.
I would like to uninstall it from my original domain and transfer the license to a different domain to which I have transferred a lot of my effort now.
Can you tell me how I can do this.
Many thanks
Paul

iJoomla Magazine / Support Questions / Re: Artio Joomserf URLS

Hi HRK below is the response I received from Alin.
basically you need to create a link to the iJoomla Magazine component in your main menu
HTH
P
<Quoted support ticket below - hope it's cool to do this>
The problem is like that: Artio Component is searching for current component name in all the menus on site. You only have published links like com_magazine in "magazines menu", and artio get first menu item from "magazines menu" and set it as component name (Drum Building - index.php?option=com_magazine&func=show_magazine&id=1). If you publish in "main menu" the menu item "Component - .iJoomla Magazine" artio then will get the correct component name and the links will not contain "drum_building" anymore.

iJoomla Ad Agency / Support Questions / Zones & Prices
|
on: March 15, 2008, 02:43:03 AM
|
|
Hey all,
Merav suggested this topic may be useful on the forum. [below quoted from support response - additional comments as noted]
ME "can I price differently per zone, e.g a front page ad will be more expensive than one on an inner page, some inner pages are worth more than others to advertisers because of traffic, can I differentiate? "
MERAV You can create different packages and specify on the package name which zone, but you there is no way to assign certain packages to certain zones at this point. You can control it by simply assigning different advertisers to different zones.
added note - basically, a publisher cannot price differently say for front page or inner pages of greater or lesser 'value' - do I read the last line correctly as 'I cannot control which Zones advertisers choose unless I physically administer their account'
Me"Do all ads rotate on all pages or can I assign x number advertisers to page A"
Merav Yes, if you want to specify different ads on different page, create different zones and show the zones on different pages.
Me"if I set 5 ads on one page can I set the display order? I know that I can set relative display %es but that's different."
MeravNo, this feature is not available.
I hope this helps. If you have more questions of this kind, it would be a good idea to post them on the forum so that others can benefit from the answers.
HTH

iJoomla Magazine / Support Questions / Magazines module - collapse menu?
|
on: March 15, 2008, 02:25:59 AM
|
|
Hey all,
My site has 8-10 mags and I'm finding that the magazines module takes up a heck of a lot of real-estate above the fold on my pages.
It appears to be a fixed module, is there any official way (or hack) to make this a collapsable / expandable menu, preferably expand on mouseover?
Thank you
Paul

iJoomla Ad Agency / Report Bugs / Re: Campaign Expires... well it was Flat Rate for 100 years

Hi There
what was the result of the support ticket?
I have the same issue when I try to enter an admin fee-free campaign - have tried 50yrs and 100yrs all show expired as soon as they are created with Duration: -13948Day(s)-11hour(s)-53minute(s)
Can we not just have am unlimited free admin option - I'm sure most sites will want to have this feature for their local use
Thanks
Paul

iJoomla Magazine / Support Questions / Re: Best way of adding iJ Magazine to live production site
|
on: March 03, 2008, 11:22:47 AM

Hi Ricardo,
my question is not regarding licenses.
I have a live site that is constantly updated by forumposts etc. If I clone that and make that the dev site then it will not be keeping pace with the live site.
There's not much point in taking 3 days to create the magazine on the dev site, and then either wiping out several days updates on the live site by reloading, or having to go through the process of recreating all the mag settings.
Can I export the magazine settings from the dev site and import those settings to the live site.
Perhaps I have not formed the question correctly or have misunderstood something. I do understand that I can have a dev and a live license I just want to apply the mag to a live site and keep it live.
Apologies if I'm just being stupid
Paul

iJoomla Magazine / Support Questions / Best way of adding iJ Magazine to live production site

Hi again, another post from me :)
I have a second site upon which I would like to install IJ Mag. The site is live and very popular.
I'd like to ask what the recommended procedure might be for implementing the software?
Do I clone the site and run it as a dev version? if so how do I update to account for latest postings?.
Do I apply it to the live site but only make it visible to special users?
Is there a different way or a preferred / recommended mechanism?
I have searched the support & pre-purchase forums and the FAQ but haven't seen this mentioned.
Thanks
Paul

iJoomla Magazine / Support Questions / Artio Joomserf URLS
|
on: March 03, 2008, 01:40:20 AM
|
Hey all, My site uses iJ mag and I'm having a problem with the URLs generated by the interaction of iJ and Artio. Currently my URLs show For magazines... http://www.drumdojo.com/drum_building/magazines/Reviews.htm For issues... http://www.drumdojo.com/drum_building/edition/Indian-Percussion.htm (in world [section] / india [category] in Joomla) For articles... http://www.drumdojo.com/maracatu_2.htm (artio set to no-display cat/sect) I selected URLS to above which illustrate clearly that although the magazine and issue are nothing to do with drum building, I have a drum building URL displaying. (I do have a drum-building section but with different content obviously) I have read the site FAQ on this and expected there to be a joomla section indicated in the URL however I thought it would be the correct section for the content that is being displayed rather than one arbitrary section for everything. The problem for me is that this is a site recently migrated from html and I had to generate hundreds of manual redirects in my .htaccess file pretty quickly to get the site running, I will need to change most of those again to fix this but not sure how I get the correct Joomla structure to show. My visitors are asking why all the articles seem to belong in drum-building. I'm wondering why too. Thanks Paul

iJoomla Magazine / Troubleshooting / Disappearing backgrounds?
|
on: December 23, 2007, 09:08:58 AM
|
Hi All this is my first post after having installed the component. I'm very impressed so far. I am using the techno plazza template from templateplazza on my 1.0.13 dev site. I have applied a number of the magazine templates and they all seem to interfere with the css that controls the main background. [update - this effect is only noticeable when I have either (or both) vertical or horizontal switched to html in the issue controls - It works fine in text. I'm using Layout #6 mostly] I have searched the forum but can't find anyone who has experienced a similar effect. Can anyone help? I've been building this site for about 10 years, the current switch I'm making to Joomla from HTML coupled with the functionality of IJ Mag in bring the content to the readership are the final elements that enable me to finally meet my original objectives from such a long time ago! I'm delighted Thank you Paul
