Hello Merav & Team,

I've been quite a fan of your products, already having purchased Magazine, Surveys, and Search & Archive... Great job! I've been running my site primarily on the iJoomla Magazine component; however, after a year, I've now begun to hone in on exactly what I need/want for my site - and it iJoomla Magazine just isn't quite it. I'm beginning to think that Newsportal may be the answer, but before I purchase it I'd like to clarify a few things.

Essentially, I want my site to look similar to and be organized like the Newsportal product (with dynamically updated latest items, etc). However, I do want something I can use like the Author Module from your Magazine component, as well as the ability to do sidebars. I suppose my question is: Can you use an author module with Newsportal? What about sidebars? And, if not, do you have any suggestions on how I might be able to use the best from all of these to come up with a custom solution?

Thanks!

Hi,

iJoomla News Portal doesn´t have any authors module. Anyway, you can look for this kind of extension. If you find this, you won´t have any problems to use it with iJoomla News Portal.
If you need to use magazine's author module/mambot, every time you add an article to Joomla!, you will need to add it to iJoomla Magazine and set it as unpublish.

iJoomla News Portal doesn´t include sidebars. You will need to install iJoomla Sidebars. This extension has more features than the sidebars included on iJoomla Magazine.
So, if you publish articles frequently I suggest you to use iJoomla News Portal with iJoomla Sidebars and look for an author module for your site.
Let me know if you have any doubts.
Best regards,

I just want to add 2 things:

1. If you already have magazine, you can enjoy the author feature, even if you don't use the magazine itself anymore

2. You can create an author sidebar and place it inside the article, if you use iJoomla Sidebars. You will just have to create a sidebar for each author and then add the sidebar tag inside the articles.
