When would we get news portal for joomla 1.5?
We are still under development and would like to make our site ready for joomla 1.5, and as of now many modules are only developed for the joomla 1.5. We really would like to continue develope against the 1.5 version but cannot as the site is bult on top of news portal...
So my question is when to expect news_portal for joomla 1.5?

We have a site already developed in Joomla 1.5 and are already online. We would like to install the News_Portal but we could not find anywhere on your website that it is compatible with 1.5
When will this new version be released so we can finish the site.

First, I don't recommend going with 1.5 at this point. It could take MONTHS before it's ready. Because it's not stable yet, and they keep changing it daily, there is no way we can make our extensions ready for 1.5 and release them that way, that won't work. When 1.5 is stable, we will do.

But is there a possibility to make a beta just for those of us who would want to make our sites ready for the 1.5 version?
I don't need a stable version, I just need one that works so that I can make everythig ready when 1.5 Is launched, and make myself familiar with it. Our progress is made on the 1.13 version but we also would want to make a mirror for us self on 1.5. We cannot remake the news portal because of the encryption

No, sorry, but it makes no sense to do it more than once, and there is no point in doing it before it's stable.

The sense in it is like every beta version on the market. We wan't to get familiar with the new version of joomla when it arrives. In my case I would want the excisting version of news portal to work with joomla 1.5, I don't need a new version

. Many components and modules comes exclus. for joomla 1.5 at the moment, and we need to rewrite some old ones to fit the new system. For me it makes sense

. But I would not rund 1.5 as a live site, as it's not ready for that with all the bugs an so on. But I recon the developers have or at least is working with the 1.5 version in some way?

So if the stable version is released next week I would want my site to run 1.5 the following week Wink

Is it okay for me to decode the news portal and make it 1.5 compatible for my own use? As I can see there is mnor changes that needs to be done in order to make it work, I don't say stable, but work

You can make any changes you want to the code, we have no problem with that. But we will not waste time converting for an unstable version. Joomla 1.5 is a completely different animal, and I wouldn't switch to it right away, even if it's declared "stable", what's the rush? there are not too many new features there.

Nada, they choose to ignore they problem they've created, they don't communicate with us, and this is very unfortunate. So we just keep doing what we're doing
