Limit Number of Articles

Ok... I've been fighting the integration of News Portal and RSS Feeder so how about an easy question...

Did I miss the setting to limit the number of articles in a feed? I thought it was the dropdown labeled feeds on the config tab, at least that's what I took the manual to mean. But that only limits the number of feeds on the feed page.

So... how do we limit the number of items in each feed?

I'd like to know the answer to this too.

My feeds are now so big they exceed the feedburner limit and are not published which is unhelpful.

A feed is meant to be an update of site contents, not list the whole shebang, which is what my feeds are doing currently.

Is there a control to limit no of articles included in a feed? If so where is it please?

This is exactly why I came here today -- to start a new thread on this issue.

Reading my feeds was causing memory exceeded limits on my server. Need to limit these!

Does this problem have a solution yet?

I have a client with a News website - and several
news feeds hitting the FeedBurner 512K limit

Can we limit the ?max-results like this support page suggests?

Hi,
In ijoomla_rss.php file under components\com_ijoomla_rss\
please search for these code:

Code:

SELECT * FROM #__content WHERE sectionid=$sec_id AND state=1 ORDER BY created DESC

replace with

Code:

SELECT * FROM #__content WHERE sectionid=$sec_id AND state=1 ORDER BY created DESC LIMIT 10

and

Code:

SELECT * FROM #__content WHERE catid=$cat_id AND state=1 ORDER BY created DESC

replace with

Code:

SELECT * FROM #__content WHERE catid=$cat_id AND state=1 ORDER BY created DESC LIMIT 10

As you can see I added LIMIT 10 at the end, were 10 is the max number of items, you can put another number: 15, 20..
