Okay I finally managed to upgrade the news portal only to have my featured section headings not show up on the page.  I have it turned on and everything worked in the last version but for some strange reason it doesn't work with the new version.  What to do??  Has anyone else had the same problem?

Yeah I think that I am going to have to roll back my news portal version so that my section headings are there.  I will have to make a demo site to test it out, but really I don't need the extra module positions and zones.  I hope there is a response somewhere.

I´m getting the same problem with my demo site.
For the moment please use "contentheading" there and I will be back with an answer for this problem.
Best regards,

I am wondering about this topic, because no supporter is answering...

Are they on holiday? No menpower?

So - what to do? Open a personalized ticket even though it seems to be a general problem/bug?

But what is this forum for?
Kind regards, Mirko

Yeah, this is a total bummer as I don't want to have random articles on my pages.  Any solution yet ijoomla?

Check this thread out:

They are releasing a newer version of news portal, maybe it will have the section headings fixed too.

I don't know if this is against the rules but I found a temporary solution for anyone wanting to have section headings.  Gavic News Show II does the exact same thing except is has more functions so it can show one article from a section and then a list to the right of it like foxnews.  Since it is a module you can place it anywhere and it automatically resizes pictures too.  I use it on my site with jootabs to nicely display my sections and categories in a tabbed menu.  Check it out at www.nintendofanalliance.com or www.nintendofanalliance.com/wii.html.  The cool thing about jootabs is that it comes with its own css so you can still have different styles if you place it in a module position.  I hope this helps or at least gives you options.

Ijoomla cant release a version that buggy!!!!

and the time for support response is reflexing the mess they made.

before news portal would create nice thumbs... now, it just scale it if the picture file contains - character or a space in its filename.

that for example was resolved in the last releaese... now a mess again. same as headings... how in the world would they think that would be ok for users.. .they just wont miss it!...

I want my software working... now. i cant afford to loose visitors because of them... the worst part is that i had a modified version of the script.. BY THEM, and now i not that easy that i can install the old release... that was buggy too.
