Hi

I can't see an easy way to copy all the work i have done on a development site to a Live site.

I take it that i'll need to install the component on the live site. Dump data from the tables related to it and then import those into the live db. off course without affecting the rest of the tables.

Please let me know if i'm on right track or if there is anyway to do this.

Thanks.

You need make a full backup (files and db) from your dev domain.
Then, restore your backup on your live domain and reinstall your iJoomla extension.
Let me know if you have any doubts about this.

Can't do your suggestion, as the site being worked on is Live and it changes and updates on a daily basis and by now development db and the live db are out of sync by at least a few hundred items.

Also all development contains loads of modules and components we have tested but decided not to use.

So Development site was a capture of a the live site at a moment in time and now they both taken different courses so to say.

Shame be good if ijoomla news had a copy setting or export and import settings. So you could easliy copy all the font changes colour changes which i persume are in the db or the files related to ijoomla news.

Looks like there will be a lot of manual work Sad

Check out the component joomlapack, as it can make an installer from your dev site and load it exactly the way that you want it on your live site.  I have used this component many times and it has saved my life.
