What is News Portal ordering? In the NP settings, general tab, there is a setting for flow order. Two of the choices are:
- Most Recent First
- News Portal Ordering
Oddly, I'm not sure they work right. When I have Most Recent First set and go into Content Items Manager and tick any item other than the most recent item as Sticky, that item moves into Top Stories zone.

When I have News Portal Ordering set and tick any item other than the most recent, the most recent item remains in the Top Stories zone.

So far, I haven't figured out just what News Portal Ordering is supposed to do. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,
I suggest you to use "News Portal Ordering" option. Setting this option you can order all your items from iJoomla News Portal´s content manager. From there you can reorder all your articles.
Anyway, you can use "Most Recent First" (Order by publishing date) or "Joomla! Ordering" (Order by Content Items Manager from J!).
Let me know if you have any doubts about this.
Best regards,

Ricardo, Actually I cannot order the items in Content Items Manager, no matter how I have ordering set. And, clearly marking an item as Sticky just plain doesn't work with News Portal Ordering set.

Hi,
I think this is a setting problem. Please confirm if you set "News Portal Ordering" in "Flow Order" field.
I just checked the sticky feature and it´s working fine.
Please let me know if the problem persists.

Yes, it persists. Each time I set Flow Order in the General Settings area to News Portal Ordering, the item I marked as Sticky moves down the list and the most recent item ends up in the Top Stories zone (I have only 1 item in Top Stories zone). Each time I set Flow Order to Most Recent First, the item I marked as Sticky moves to the Top Stories zone. I have tested this several times. I see those changes as soon as I change settings.

As to News Flow, I now understand how it works and will try working with it. I had expected the articles in the Content Items Manager to re-oder in that list when I used up/down arrows, but that didn't seem to work. I'm fine with it now.

But, I can't seem to set Flow Order to News Portal Ordering in Featured Sections zone and Featured Categories zone. When I select News Portal Ordering and hit Save, then go back, Flow Order is set to Least Hits. I'll just leave those as Most Recent First.

Let me check this and I will be back with an answer.
