I recommend the addition of a new feature (sortof-"Zone") that would permit the display of articles from existing Sections/Categories that are already covered by the existing Zones.

This would support topic-specific displays. For instance, articles about the human brain originaly might be assigned to different Sections/Categories, but consolidated to suppport a summary of current news.

This is possible with a lot of manual work using the existing Joomla 1.0.13 version. However, the results are unsatisfactory, since they do not share the News Portal flow and formatting.

The ability to assign articles to multiple sections/categories is what is holding news portal (a great component) back for me. I've messaged them before and the only response has been "we have not thought about that"...or something. I'm not dogging them or anything, just saying it likely want come soon if at all. I'll keep posting stuff until I know it is or is not ever going to be plausible. Wink

There are numerous sites that I "compete" with that achieve this goal. We've come to the conclusion we will one day have to do this with or without joomla in order to compete.
