Is there any way to make the homepage of the news portal search engine friendly? Since it is not a page but really a report I can see no way of improving SEO.

Specifically I would like to know how can I define...
1. the page title and title meta tag
2. the description meta tag
3. the keywords meta tag
4. text link tags

Since the news portal homepage is a report rather than an actual content item, maybe this question addresses a fundamental Joomla deficiency. However it would be good if News Portal offered additional assistance in optimising its pages for search engine friendliness.

Well, if you are running on Joomla 1.0.x, you can use sh404sef, which is really good. You can also use iJoomla's metatag generator. It does a fine job of creating metas.

On 1.5, well sh404sef works on the platform. As far as working with NewsPortal, I will not know whether it works on 1.5 until the new version is released. Someday.

The metatag generator? Same thing.

Are you using a SEF Extension?
