I have three questions/problems:

1. How do I set up new ads so that they will time out on a specific day and/or time?

2.I am having problem controlling the order of my ads. My ads are for events that occur on specific days. If I insert an ad for the 10th of the month but later one comes in for the 9th of the month, it can take 30 to 40 minutes to remove and reinsert ads to get all of the days with the earliest date on top. In Joomla you can move article up or down by clicking a button, how can I do this with my ads so I do not have to delete and reinsert ads to move them around?

3. Can Ad Agency be set up to account for money paid for the ad and notify me when an ad is about to run out so I can bill the advertiser. This would be a great help and eliminate a three step process of accounting for money the add costs, remembering and calendaring when the ad will run out and sending a bill to the advertiser to maintain the ad in line.

At this point you can´t set a time out date for each ads.

Hmm, if it´s possible we could consider this for future releases.

At this point the notification system doesn´t have this option. I will report this in order to be considered for future releases.

Remember that this is a young extension and we are pretty close to finish the J! 1.5 version. Then, we will add more features in order to improve it.

Thanks for your feedbacks.

Thank you!

I do understand that this is a "young product."  I appreciate that. As we move deeper into building Joomla sites we are relying heavily on iJoomla magazine to create the look and usage we desire. We now have 9 Joomla sites all using iJoomla magazine and various others of your components.. we currently have 4 site where we are using Ad Agency and soon two more will be added...We like iJoomla...there are some basic issues that will need to be addressed in a sense I outlined three that we need to have "as soon as possible."

We are using our sites to sell advertising, this is how we want to make it profitable...to do this we will need a way to not only sell ads but manage them, give them time limits, have a way to notify advertisers that their ad is "timing out", manage collections, adjust positions of the ads and allow the ads to do things that have not even been thought about at this point so that they are unique and hence profitable.

Truthfully, who does this is less important that it becomes available. We have however made a commitment by purchasing Ad Agency to use and hence work with iJoomla to create the product we and most likely every one who is doing what we are doing will need.

We thought that contacting you and 1) finding out if what we need was somehow hidden with in the product made sense. Since it is not, then 2) the next step is to make sure that we communicate our ideas and needs and see if they makes sense to your developers. If you are going a different route then we need to look for components that will get us what we need. If we have common purpose then maybe we can help you to include features that help us and make your product a greater success.

If there is a specific developer working on Ad Agency that might be interested in our needs and experience may be they would contact us so we can talk and share? We should all come out ahead working together. We plan to add our major e-commerce advertising site by April or May 2009, so the farther we are ahead on this issue the better for us.

Allen,

We appreciate your feedback. We will start working on new improvement as soon as the 1.5 version is released.
