This is related to an earlier thread about removing "Read more..." in Article sidebars by modifying the sidebar_mambot.php file to simply remove the "Read more..." line.

That's a universal change that works great if you never need "Read more..." in an article sidebar -- i.e. if your article sidebars always display the entire content in the sidebar.

But how can I get "Read more..." to display only when it's necessary -- i.e.when the article length exceeds the "Max amount of characters" -- and NOT display when it's not needed, because the whole article has already displayed?

Thanks, Ricardo. IMO that's a highly-desirable addition for those of us who frequently use Article sidebars, but sometimes for short takes and other times to start longer, related articles.
