Yes, of course. Go to iJoomla News Portal - > Design -> Layout and edit your front page layout. There you can change your layout from 2 or 3 columns to 1, as you need.
2) I'm also having problems with zones such as titles, image and intro content. How do I get the zone organized where the title shows on one line, the image on the next and the intro information on the last. It a paramid fashion. Currently, it's all showing up side by side.
Edit your zone and set Article Orientation as vertical. Then you will have:
title
image (left, right or center)
content
