How to remove the powered by notice from magazine component:

Go to administrator/componenets/com_magazine/magazine.config.php

Open the magazine.config.php file and change this line (which is near the bottom):
$_CONFIG['iJoomla'] = 1 to
$_CONFIG['iJoomla'] = 0

Might be helpful Merav if you can make this sticky.  I'm sure other members will want to know the answer to this question again.

One other quick question, how come the previous posts weren't imported into the new forums?

Hi Merav,

strange. this file is the only file in the directory with 777 permission and I can overwrite it. Do you have any idea?

TIA!

Try deleting it from the server and them, upload the new file.

Try to change the chmod to 666 in your cpanel. Then, delete. If the problem persists, report to your hosting support.

Unless it's noted somewhere else this method isn't working in 1.5.
