Hello all,

I have a license for iJoomla magazine for my main site. I am building a customer site on my URL until they are happy for it to go live (obviously a separate installation of Joomla to my installation). I can't use my customer's domain as they are leaving their current hosting & design company when I complete their new site.

When the new site goes live the development site will be moved to a subdomain of their main site.

Can I develop their site using my license & then purchase their license when their site goes live on their URL? What is the recommended way to do this? Does this make sense??? It seemed such an easy question when I started to ask it!!

Many thanks,
Alaric

Hi alaricwood,
Do all the testing in your dev. Then, when the magazine is finished, uninstall your iJoomla Magazine from dev, move your dev backup to the new domain and install your client´s iJoomla Magazine license. You won´t loose any data. But remember to backup all your work.

Hello Ricardo,

Just to clarify something from the licensing FAQ:

'We don't offer a server license. Your license is issued per domain. You may install the component on as many subdomains and directories of your license domain as you wish.'

For my customer I have already installed Joomla and begun customisation in a subdirectory on my main domain: does this mean I can use my 'live' site license in this instance? Or do I need to move it all to my dev domain (haven't actually set one up yet...).

Kind regards,
Alaric

Yes, you can.
In your case, your live license is www.yourdomain.com/directory/.
