My experimenting with the Frontpage module gave me an idea of a new great feature, if it could be done without changing how the news portal work to much, about URL's. Could it be done that you could, in addition to, not instead of, automatically show published content items, also publish content which only contained the introtext and a image, whereas you would be linked to/redirected to a custom entered URL?

Since I use other components like PUarcade and Seyret, it would be wonderful if I could link to new tutorials or games directly, and save my users for that extra click Wink

Hi tipsogtriks,
I´m not sure if I understand what you suggest.
Do you mean that the "read more" will be linked to a custom url?
If not, could you explain it again?
Thanks

In other words, you create an content item, with jus a title, introtext and an image. And in News Portal, you could choose that this content item links to another URL that you, by yourself enter. The result would be that when a guest click on the read more or the image, instead of opening the content item itself, News Portal "redirects" you to the url you entered for that particular content item.

That way you could submit content to the frontpage that notifies guest's of a new game posted in the PU Arcade component or a new video in seyret. I know this is wishthinking, since it would probably require a lot of coding. But, when you get an idea, why not share it?

Hi tipsogtriks,

At this point you can't do this with iJoomla News Portal, but this is one of iJoomla Magazine's feature.

Thanks for your suggestion.
Best regards,

Our next version will have this feature. Stay tuned.
