I second that vote and sure I speak for many sites that will want to use this product.

Think of it this way to see our point. Professional sales sites don't always force you to register an account.

The 3 options of the following would be great:

1 - Full register before purchase.

2 - Enter and re-enter email address and reg info on one screen while they are checking out. No verification of email needed.

3 - No need to enter any reg info. Site just doesn't care about it.

I hope these can be implemented.

Or maybe purchase then ask if they ways to save information for a return visit.  If they do ask for username and password. if not then roll on.

"Before purchasing at your store, your customers will need to register. ...

After registration, they'll receive a confirmation email and after the purchase, another email with the purchase confirmation."

This is a good reason to not buy this.  Merav, if you truly want to break your sales wide open.  Please fix this.

Also you may want to read:

A report by Nielsen Norman Group on the usability of e-commerce websites:
The reports contain extensive guidelines for how to design e-commerce sites to make them more usable. All guidelines are based on findings from detailed usability studies of twenty e-commerce sites with users in the United States and Europe.

Richly illustrated with 221 color screenshots of designs that worked particularly well or that caused problems for shoppers.

I agree with all your feedback. But keep in mind, programming takes TIME, and a lot of it. We start with something basic that works, for the most part, and we add features as we go. If you don't have patience to wait, you are welcome to try VM or any other stores, but please understand that we can't have all the features that shopping carts that have been around for 10 years have.

im not a programmer, but simply turning off registration required would increase your sales and make up any time you would invest in it.
Many are not purchasing, including myself, because it is a pain in the butt to buy anything from the store.
In response to merav's comment:
"if you don't have patience to wait, you are welcome to try VM or any other stores, but please understand that we can't have all the features that shopping carts that have been around for 10 years have"
============
this thread is about turning off registration required. carts that have been around for 5 days can accomplish this, i think your response reflects how much more work will be going into this plugin, which may be close to nothing.
Ive discouraged 5 clients from buying it already solely because the registration, confirmation, registration, sit down, spin around, click your heels is required by my client before THEY pay ME money. I should pay them for the time it takes to just buy something.

i love the script, and if it had this very simple feature, not requiring any registration, i'd be all over it and pushing everyone i know to get it.

This is not the only feature we have on our "to do" list. It is a very very long list, and we will get to all of it as soon as we can. We can't make everybody happy and we're ok with that for the time being, we're doing our best. Look at our change log and see how many features we've added to the new version, we make good progress, but like I said, it takes time.

I agree. I hate having to give out all my information when buying something on line.

This feature is something you should list in your sales literature as a mandatory item that can't be turned off. It would save a lot of us out there a lot of time and effort purchasing or installing a product that won't meet our client's needs.

If you are trying to gain business in the shopping cart arena, this needs to be something that we end users/web designers can choose to have on or off based on our client's wishes.

Sure you can use VirtuMart, the whole object of paying for a component is in the hopes of stronger support and developers who do their market research about what the marketplace needs instead of forcing customers to take what they give them.

If this option is something you don't plan on doing within the next few weeks, I for one will be asking for my money back and holding you to your money back guarantee.

Otherwise this is a nice little component but if you aren't going to support it properly, it isn't worth paying for it.

I too have a client that is requesting that their potential buyers not have to register to buy the product.  Is there an ETA on when this functionality will be available?  If it's not very soon, I will be forced to use a different solution. which means I will be forced to ask for my money back for both the component and the authorize.net plugin.

an idea of what features you have on that list would be nice and maybe asking the community of people that have purchased the product what they would like would also be nice

i quite like the idea of not having to register but for me, having the ability to create your own fields for free text is much higher on the list ..

but just having a little update on where things are would be nice ..

I have agree with the last few comments...
though i understand you guys are doing your best....
We have had the store working for over a month now and have had no purchases, as a musician I am competing with other, easier, e-stores and consumers who are used to getting everything fast... i am still getting all downloads through other online stores even though they are all commenting on the music through my site... i have also been told that the registration is a problem and would love to be able to add more free text.
thanks!
