merav/support,

since i dont yet want to open up mutliple auth.net accounts, new checking accounts, etc can i do the following:

can i have multiple subdomains, such as:

www.mainsite.com/donuts
www.mainsite.com/songs
www.mainsite.com/pay-me-now which has the digi store

people that use the donuts site would not know about the songs site.

A - can the digi store be setup so that it can handle exclusive products for each subdomain so thte user does not see products for both donuts and songs subdomains?

B - what do you think about this idea and its setup?

thanks

You can install digistore on as many sub domains and sub directories you want, but of course you will have to install joomla on each of these sub domains/sub directories.

I can't give you more advice without knowing the nature of your business. If you give more details, that would help.

Merav,

I think everything needed is very carefully listed above to be able to answer a question such as mine.

Hi Lemonbar

You can use one Authorize.net account for any number of shopping carts or installations of Gigistore with one checking account.  That is what we do.

I am not sure your idea is structured the best way in order to maintain your site.  We are setting up Digistore to offer access to some products while normal store users will never be able to see those.  But our sites look the same too.

I would have Digistore on only one Joomla installation.  if you have more than one Joomla site just make each site match up to a category in Digistore.  This way you will only have one SSL, Auth.net, and Digistore to manage.

Hi, I am looking to do something similar.

Eg if my main site is mycompany.com

and my three subdomains are
producta.com
productb.com
productc.com

The three product.com sites are all subdomains of mycompany.com

Is there a way of having one digistore for all my subdomains?

My client wants to have only the product.com site name showing in the url at all times.

I assumed before that I would have to have a seperate digistore for each one.

No, these are not sub domains, these are top level domain, because they end with ".com". Sub domain is what comes before the top level domain.

For example:

demo.ijoomla.com is a sub domain of ijoomla.com, but ijoomlar.com is a totally different domain, even if it sounds similar.

If you told me producta.mycompany.com, then yes, that's a sub domain.

Hi Merav,
Sorry I should have explained better. I am talking about subdomains.
I have paid for four domain names all on the same hosting package. My main domain is sleepingbeauties.biz the other three are addon domains Eg. one  add on domain is organicbabysocksonline.com which is actually organicbabysocksonline.sleepingbeauties.biz It is just a folder within the sleepingbeauties.biz structure but I have configured it so the url appears as organicbabysocksonline.com.
Do you still consider that not to be a subdomain?
I am really asking what the best way of using digistore on the subdomains would be.

Hi,
how are you accessing this domain organicbabysocksonline.com ?
Open this URL in your browser and you'll only get nothing or redirected to a google search listing this forum thread.
An ad-on domain is a free domain registration that is provided with some hosting packages.
you can only access a domain like organicbabysocksonline.com if it has been registered. Otherwise, you would not be able to access it at all.
So, lets try to clear this up, the licnesed componetns must be installed on the final resting place of the users browser.
For example, if you have demo.mysite.com and it redirects to www.mynewsite.com then the component myst be installed on www.mynewsite.com EVEN if the URL has been masked.
otherwise the license willdetect the wrong servername and give the administrator an error.
if you have a subdomain dev.mysite.com which is redirected or accessed by the url www.mynewsite.com then the domain mynewdomain.com MUST be a regisered domain in order for it to be usable. If it weren't registered, then nobody could access it. Including yourself.

Hi Robbo,
Yes I have registered all the domains I have. They are fully working in their own right - it is just that they are hosted as addon domains of the sleepingbeauties domain. It sounds as though I need to install a copy of digistore on each domain then as I thought and lisence each domain individually which is no problem. Just was wondering what the best way using the component would be if I want to have a product for sale on each of the domains on behalf of my sleepingbeauties.biz client.
