After scouring the web for several hours, what I'm convinced the online world really needs... is decent fiction website software!

As near as I can tell, there's only one package out there: eFiction.. To say that eFiction is a bit inflexible is to say that Adolph Hitler was a little unpleasant. It's not a bad start, but things could be done a lot smoother... the iJoomla way, for example.

A decent software package of this type would have a list of authors, admin control of functionality, and Joomla's already impressive collection of themes.

Some of the flexible things that could be done, for example, would be that the admin could:

  • Approve stories or allow automatic approval
  • Allow users to create new catagories or not
  • Easy addition of stories and chapters

Well, you get the idea... NO ONE makes a decent content management system for writing fiction and/or poetry. Would this be something marketable, or is it too limited in its scope?

I have been thinking about something similar in the past, more for article publishing, but I think what Joomla really needs and missing is a video extension or podcasting...so I think that's next. Thanks for the idea though  Smiley

Hmmmm....now a good podcasting extension would be extremely useful.  I know that I'd want it!

Thanks Merva!
