I have a client who already has a merchant account.  They process credit cards in their office.  They do not want to process payments via PayPal, Authorize.net or 2Checkout.  They'd like to be able to download or get the payment information (credit card number, exp. date, etc.) for processing separately offline.

Is this possible?

Hi spcover,
The payment methods currently available are:
- Paypal
- Authorize
- 2CheckOut
Anyway, if you enable a custom form to get the transaction information you can use DigiStore for delivering your products.
Best regards,

Yes, of course.
You need to install a form component in order to create a custom form. In this form you will get all your client´s information (name, card, etc). Then, you will only need to add manualy the product license on iJoomla Digistore.
That´s all.
Best regards,

Please be very careful is you are planning on taking credit card info online on your site and storing it somewhere, even temporarily.
See this article please:
http://www.eway.com.au/Company/About/PCICompliance.aspx
If you want to store credit card info of any kind, your site must be PCI DSS compliant and audited.

Hi all .. see quite a few threads around this matter, but I'm not sure if I've seen an exact answer to the question:

Can a developer write an offline payment module that integrates with  DigiStore?

I know it took little work for our guys to write one into VirtueMart - essentially it sends parts of the card info to the database, and emails the other parts to the relevant administrator(s).  After the order is processed the email portion is disposed of, so a potential thief would have to both intercept every email and gain access to the DB to compromise a client's card details. (And a rogue employee could not gain access to client details except for 'live' orders).

I'm also assuming that as there's a 3rd party developer writing gateways, there's some way to achieve this.  So I suppose the question is whether they need access to the unencrypted DigiStore code in order to do so?

I suggest you to ask this to our programmers on our support system or to contact Rob Joyce via PM.
Best regards,
