Can't add sections or categories
«

This program has me pulling my hair out. According to all of your sales material, this is supposed to be so darn user-friendly and easy. Well, I can't even set up a section or category. Everytime I try, I fill out all the info and then hit save and NOTHING. It won't even let me off the dang page.
I also get a yellow triangle in the bottom left corner and it says error on page.
I never had this problem with Joomla before you moved me to another domain. I sure don't know why it's such a hassle now.
I am so unhappy with this product.

I am pretty sure the problem is your HTML editor. Are you using the default HTML editor called "tiny MCE"? if yes, that's your problem. Go to site->global configuration and you can see which HTML editor is the default.
Now, you can easily install a BETTER HTML editor, such as TMedit or WYSIWYG Pro, and this problem would go away.
Download the HTML editor
Install it as a mambot
Go to global configuration and make it your default HTML editor
And for the future, please open a support ticket and give us some credit...we're not here to rip you off.

Are you kidding me? Why do you guys talk to me like I'm a developer and have any idea what you're talking about? How the heck do I install a new new html program? Where the heck do I even find that? And I did do a ticket, but apparently you answer a lot faster than they do.
And I never said you were trying to rip me off -- I said I was disappointed. BIG difference. If you say user-friendly, I expect it to be. I don't want to have to learn HTML or any other "language" in order to do this. That has never been my intent. It's why I chose your program in the first place.

The problems you are having are not related to our products but are related to Joomla.
HTML editor doesn't mean that you need to learn HTML, it means it's like a word document, it allows you to edit your text WITHOUT HTML knowledge.
I am trying to help you. If you just do as I told you, your problem will disappear. Now I will check your ticket and install the HTML editor for you, since you seem to not know how to do this. There is really no need to get this upset over such a simple problem. We're here to help.

I am upset because this is just one in a dozen things that are driving me crazy. And I'm super frustrated that everytime I contact support I get crypic comments like check your manual or something that only a developer would know what they're talking about. And I REALLY did not like that you said I felt I was getting ripped off. So yeah I'm upset.

Actually I am looking at the responses you received to your tickets:
**********************
Hi,
I just added a magazine, one issue and one article and no problems.
http://domain.com/joomla44/administrator/index2.php
Please advise.
Thanks,
********************
And for another ticket:
****************
please copy the contents of the administrator/components/com_magazine/ioncube directory to the same location for the components that are not working.
that will get them all working.

I read ALL your tickets and we never asked you to read a manual. We always gave you good support. So I guess I am not sure again why you are upset with us. We are trying our best to help you.

I just wanted to add something to this outdated post....
It seems offensive and inappropriate to me as a web developer and a fellow customer the complete lack of individual responsibility by this 'unhappy' customer. In the end, it seems he got help and this was resolved - despite his best intentions to share his rant here, without coming back to share gratitude & satisfaction.
So I'll do that for him!
Kudos to Merav, Rob and the rest of the iJoomla team for their effort, their products, their customer support and their patient, tactful and helpful attention in these forums.
Regards,
John
