Greetings-
I am very interested in your component, however; I have questions and concerns.

My client's site is niche specific, therefore we sell advertising that is very specific, based on specific sections/categories. Can News Portal  have modules specific to only certain pages so that we can provide targeted advertising for our client.

I need to be able to offer specific RSS feeds within specific sections / categories.  This needs to be customizable as well as an "rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml"" for subscription purposes.

I need the articles to have their comment totals from AkoComment to appear on the main page, as it does now within blog views.

Thanks in advance for your response, I would appreciate detailed answers if possible, not just yes it will.

Thanks!

Hi designsedge,
I suggest you to use iJoomla Ad Agency for this.

You can offer specific RSS feeds using iJoomla RSS Feeder. Check if using feedburner you can get the customization that you need.

You can install a comment system but at this point you can“t display the comments in front page.

I don't even know where to start --
First - I am interested in News Portal, nothing else.
I use openads to serve my advertising, rd_rss for my rss feeds, and my site functions perfectly in its current state.

My questions are regarding News Portal, not another product, anyone else want to take a look at my question - wow.

 Huh

Yes, each section and each category generates a menu item, there for you can assign different ads to each section/category pages. Make sure you install the menu module.

Like Ricardo said, there is no tool for Joomla that generates RSS feeds based on sections/categories, except for iJoomla RSS feeder. This feature is not available with iJoomla news portal.

Our next version will work with jomcomment, but we don't plan to support akocomment at this time.

I hope I answered all your questions.

I wanted to pop back in and let everyone know - Yes, I bought this product, and the magazine, and the search and archive component!  This has made a HUGE difference in my website and my users experience, and now that 1.0 is out, I am bouncing out of my skin to go home and play with it - this is the most legal fun you can have with Joomla!  Worth every penny - quit deciding, and take the plunge.
